Position Overview
The Supply Chain Manager – Factory is responsible for leading and optimizing all end-to-end supply chain activities within the factory. This role ensures efficient and seamless movement of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods across procurement, production, warehousing, and distribution. The position is critical in aligning factory operations with corporate supply chain strategies, cost targets, quality standards, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Forecasting
- Develop and manage factory-level supply, production, and inventory plans in alignment with sales forecasts and corporate objectives.
- Ensure production schedules are fully supported by material availability and factory capacity.
- Collaborate with demand planning teams to minimize shortages, excess inventory, and obsolescence.
Procurement & Materials Management
- Oversee procurement of raw materials and packaging, ensuring cost competitiveness, quality compliance, and on-time supply.
- Manage supplier performance, contracts, and negotiations in partnership with central procurement.
- Optimize safety stock levels to balance working capital with service-level expectations.
Factory Operations & Logistics
- Lead all factory supply chain functions including planning, procurement, warehousing, and logistics.
- Ensure smooth material flow to production and efficient dispatch of finished goods to distribution centers or customers.
- Implement best practices in warehouse operations, inventory rotation (FIFO/FEFO), and transportation efficiency.
Performance & Cost Management
- Drive key KPIs such as service levels, forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, cost-to-serve, and supply reliability.
- Monitor and control supply chain costs while implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Lead factory-level S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) to ensure cross-functional alignment.
Leadership & Compliance
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of planners, warehouse staff, and logistics personnel.
- Ensure full compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., GMP, HACCP, ISO).
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, problem-solving, accountability, and teamwork across the supply chain organization.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field (Master's degree is an advantage).
- Minimum 7 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within FMCG, food & beverage, or manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of production planning, procurement, warehousing, and logistics processes.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
- Able to work effectively under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced factory environment.
