Role Purpose
Under the direct supervision of Head of Support Services, the Support Services Intern provides essential operational and strategic support to the Support Services Unit (SSU) within the UNOPS EAPMCO. The role's primary purpose is to assist in coordinating business planning, monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and ensuring compliance across various business streams. Additionally, the intern drives the Continuous Improvement agenda, specifically serving as the focal point for Generative AI initiatives. This position ensures efficient service delivery to internal and external clients while fostering innovation and organizational excellence in a multicultural environment.

- Support the Annual Business planning exercise by compiling data and various analytical reports
- Conduct analyses and/or prepare periodic and ad-hic reports mainly to support SSU's management's and/or MCO leadership's decision making
- Coordinate and follow up on the completion of various crosscutting exercises mainly within the SSU, and sometimes involving other Functional Units like Business Development, Partnerships and Outreach Unit, and Programme Management Unit
- Organise periodic and ad-hoc SSU All Staff Meetings, ensuring the compilation of an Agenda before each meeting
- Organise periodic and ad-hoc meetings for SSU Management Team and act as the team's Secretariat, ensuring timely compilation of agendas, meeting minutes and following up on agreed action points
- Act as the SSU focal point for liaising with the Office of the Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific Region (ORD) on various management and oversight issues, and coordinate within EAPMCO the completion of required actions.
- Performance Management and Monitoring Support
- On a quarterly basis, prepare a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) monitoring report detailing how each Business Stream within the SSU has performed against predefined KPIs
- Organize meetings with heads of business streams within SSU to discuss KPI assessment results and formulate back-on-track action plans
- Follow up with responsible personnel in SSU on the implementation of KPI back-on-track actions where deficiencies are identified, and issue quarterly implementation updates
- Liaise with the Finance Business Stream personnel on various matters related to the performance of Administrative Budgets (Local Shared Services budget and Management Expenses [Overheads] budget)
- Continuous Improvement Agenda Coordination
- In line with the SSU's Continuous Improvement agenda, contribute towards the achievement of defined objectives by studying and assessing processes to identify areas for improvement focussing on Quality and Efficiency of service delivery, and making proposals to SSU management
- Conduct research on various operations management matters and make recommendations to the management of SSU for consideration
- Act as the focal point for various improvement initiatives, including all Generative AI initiatives
4 .Compliance Activities Coordination
- Act as the Compliance focal point in SSU, working closely with the MCO Compliance team that is based in Bangkok
- Coordinate compliance tasks within the SSU, including following up on the completion of rectification action plans
Education Requirements
Required:
- The applicant should have completed a Minimum First level university degree (Bachelor's or equivalent), or be enrolled in a postgraduate program or have graduated from such studies within three (3) years prior to the start date of the intern assignment.
Desired:
- Areas of study should relate to Business Administration/Management/Studies, Commerce, Financial Accounting, Management Finance, Economics, or any other related field.

Desired:
- Applicants are not required to have professional work experience but experience working or volunteering in the field of project or programme management, finance or accounting is desirable.
