We are looking for a Content Assistant / Supporting Editor to join our in-house creative team and work alongside our Content Creator / Photographer / Videographer to bring the Starboard story to life across all platforms.
Role overviewReporting to the Lead Creative, you'll support the capture, editing, and production of high-quality photo and video content for Starboard's global communication channels, including website, social media, product launches, and events. Working closely with the marketing and product teams, you'll help produce content that reflects our brand identity, celebrates innovation, and connects people to life on the water.
This is a supporting role built for someone who wants to grow. You'll assist on shoots, take ownership of editing and post-production tasks, and keep the content pipeline organized and moving.
Key responsibilitiesPhotography & videography support
- Assist the Lead Creative on photo and video shoots for product launches, team shoots, and brand storytelling.
- Support Starboard photoshoots, events, and yearly distributor meetings.
- Help produce product and brand videos for website, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and other channels.
- Assist in the in-house studio to shoot boards, paddles, and accessories for catalogues, banners, and online stores.
Editing & content production
- Edit and produce videos and imagery for social media, product pages, campaigns, and other digital platforms.
- Take ownership of file organization, naming, and archiving of visual content.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and marketing team to keep content aligned with brand tone and objectives.
- Deliver content in the correct formats for multiple platforms and media channels.
Creative development
- Contribute ideas for new content, formats, and storytelling concepts.
- Support brand campaigns, lifestyle storytelling, and behind-the-scenes projects.
- Explore and apply new tools and workflows, including AI-assisted editing and content generation.
Key working relationships- Lead Content Creator: direct manager and day-to-day collaborator.
- Marketing team: briefs, campaign direction, and channel priorities.
- Product and design teams: product accuracy, launch timelines, and brand consistency.
Candidate profileEssential
- Some experience as a photographer, videographer, or content creator, with a portfolio or sample work.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop).
- Solid video editing and color grading skills, with a willingness to develop them further.
- Basic knowledge of lighting and studio setups for product and lifestyle photography.
- Comfortable following a clear brief and working both independently and as part of a team.
- Creative, organized, and detail-oriented, with strong time management skills.
- Fluent in English, spoken and written.
- Willing to travel occasionally for shoots, events, and testing trips.
Preferred
- Experience in sports, lifestyle, or outdoor environments.
- Watersports experience.
- Skills in video animation or motion graphics (After Effects).
- Interest or experience in AI tools and content automation.
