System Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and operate on-premise and private cloud infrastructure (VMware, Nutanix, OpenStack).
• Manage servers, storage, virtualization, and networking components with focus on high availability and performance.
• Perform upgrades, patching, and security hardening to ensure compliance and resiliency.
• Develop and maintain automation using scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Shell) and configuration tools (Ansible, RunDeck, AWX).
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to create infrastructure blueprints and implement best practices.
• Proactively monitor systems, troubleshoot incidents, and drive root cause analysis to ensure service reliability.
• Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
• Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
• Continuously improve operational efficiency through self-service, automation, and process optimization.
• Stay updated with the latest infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud technologies to drive innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in system engineering and infrastructure operations.
• Strong expertise with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix).
• Solid knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows server administration.
• Experience with private cloud (VMware, Nutanix, OpenStack) and hybrid cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience in scripting/automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Shell).
• Knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN, VLAN, VPN) and storage solutions (SAN, NAS, RAID).
• Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring and alerting (Grafana, Prometheus, EM, etc.).
• Understanding of security and compliance best practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communicator with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
