Job Description:
Support Tax Lead in managing multiple operations of the tax practice area (South and Southeast Asia – SSEA – Business Unit) which will include but not limited to:
- Overseeing the Business Unit's Tax Reporting functions and timeliness and accuracy of financial information/analysis to help the Business Unit meet its profit objectives and to ensure statutory tax reporting obligations are satisfied.
- Managing SSEA Business Unit's tax related matters in the case of any corporate actions, ad-hoc advisory and other relevant matters.
Detailed Job scope:
- In charge of tax compliance execution for SSEA countries (e.g., Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, India, Hong Kong). This includes but is not limited to timely reviewing tax reporting, tax forecast, budget process, etc.
- Work with cross functional teams (i.e. FP&A, Global Tax, finance controller) to set up tax forecasts, budget and monitor and adjust (if applicable) them on a monthly basis.
- Responsible for tax-related data collection and analysis (e.g., Tax Burden Ratio on both P&L and cash basis, Margin, and Transfer Pricing, etc.) and outstanding problems / questions resolution in order to 1) increase tax efficiency; 2) mitigate tax risk; and 3) ensure accurate tax forecast or budget.
- Assist SSEA Tax Lead and Head of Tax to manage internal tax health checks and provide proposals & advice to reduce compliance risk.
- Assist SSEA Tax Lead on transfer pricing strategy set-up for both domestic and cross-border transactions for all SSEA countries. Review the transfer price plan (i.e., mark-up rate, sales price, transaction flow, etc.) for each affiliate's transaction types and ensure the success of implementation. Review the transfer pricing documentation prepared to support the strategy and plan.
- Support SSEA Tax Lead to act as an internal consultant to provide tax guidance for related functions (e.g. supply chain finance, GL). Monitor the tax status and position on a monthly basis, and handle challenges, questions and tax audits (if any) from each country's tax authorities.
- Establish or maintain good relationships with Finance Bureau, Tax Bureau, and other Government Authorities (if required). Manage and coordinate with external consultants.
- Support SSEA Tax Lead and Tax Head in coordination with the global tax team to keep a consistent tax strategy between local and global teams. Support the global tax team with tax return or provision preparation for other jurisdictions from a compliance perspective.
- Support in applying for any applications related to tax such as tax exemption / reduction / deferral application, cross-border double tax treaty application, tax liquidation application, tax audit defense, etc.
- Proactively research for benefits such as government incentives for the group.
- Work together with SSEA Tax Lead and Head of Tax to plan annual tax projects. Assisting SSEA Tax Lead and Head of Tax in feasibility studies by leveraging consulting resources. Land the execution from end to end.
Skills & Capabilities:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, majoring in Accounting or Taxation.
- Demonstrates strong technical Thailand taxation skills and aware of tax regulations applied.
- Willing to learn about other regions taxation, International Tax and can understand the tax treaty.
Specific requirements:

- At least 3 years of tax related job experience required including strong Asia exposure (i.e. Singapore, Thailand, etc.) with a comprehensive understanding of taxation, regulations and accounting. Multinational company or consultant firm experience is preferred.
- Experience in tax project management and tax process design is a must.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate governance practices and procedures.
- Fluent language skills (both written and verbal) in English.
