The Tax Manager is responsible for ensuring effective tax management with full compliance to tax laws and related regulations while minimizing exposures at a reasonable cost. This role proactively manages changes arising from internal and external regulations to maintain efficient tax operations. Additionally, the Tax Manager provides strategic support to businesses and related companies on tax-related matters, enabling sustainable growth and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- To develop and implement effective tax planning and management strategies to optimize benefits for the Group, encompassing direct and indirect taxes, Customs duties, Transfer Pricing, and Top-up Tax.
- To establish proper controls and lead the team in adapting to new regulations and changes through clear communication and timely progress monitoring to ensure successful outcomes.
- To supervise tax accountants, specialists, division managers, and other functions to ensure accurate tax transactions and full compliance with tax regulations, while facilitating smooth business operations.
- To conduct Transfer Pricing studies and provide advisory services to support intercompany transactions, as required by the business, along with preparing Transfer Pricing documentation and related filings in compliance with internal controls and legal requirements.
- To monitor tax initiatives and benefits closely to identify and implement tax-saving strategies and risk mitigation measures that support new business ventures and ongoing operations.
- To coordinate with internal and external parties, particularly tax and relevant authorities, to ensure full compliance and smooth operations, while supervising the tax team to efficiently complete tax audits within established timelines.
- To manage and develop the tax team to ensure alignment with team and corporate culture, fostering strong business partnerships while promoting a growth-oriented mindset.
- Undertake other related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in tax compliance, tax planning, tax accounting, and/or tax advisory.
- Proven experience in working with authorities such as the BOI, Revenue Department, Customs, and other relevant government agencies.
- Direct experience in handling tax audits and tax refund applications.
- In-depth understanding of local Thai tax laws, processes, and practices.
- Proficient in Tax Accounting with foundational knowledge of accounting recognition and booking principles.
- Familiarity with Double Taxation Agreements, OECD guidelines, and Transfer Pricing regulations. - Knowledgeable in tax incentives, including but not limited to BOI tax benefits.
