Team Lead, Engineering

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership to a team of backend and frontend developers (React, Python, AWS Serverless) and QA engineers.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and inspire the team to adopt modern engineering tools and best practices.
• Lead the design and architecture of enterprise-scale, cloud-based software solutions.
• Drive continuous and iterative software development cycles with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Ensure adherence to software engineering best practices including unit test automation, code reviews, CI/CD, and secure coding standards.
• Mentor and coach engineers to support their career growth and foster a culture of technical excellence.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Support, and Field teams to understand customer needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure seamless product integration and alignment with business goals.
• Interface with Support teams to diagnose and resolve customer escalations efficiently.
• Assist engineering leadership in talent acquisition and technical hiring processes.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical and architectural documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (BE/B.Tech/MCA or equivalent).
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in designing and developing enterprise software applications.
• At least 3 years of experience in leading software development teams as a Technical or Team Lead.
• Expertise in Python and/or React, with practical experience in developing cloud-based or serverless solutions.
• Strong understanding of AWS cloud services and serverless architecture (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB).
• Solid grasp of software security principles and industry best practices.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and automation testing frameworks.
• Strong background in code reviews, design inspections, and requirement validation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across global, cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and manage multiple concurrent tasks.
• Proven leadership, mentoring, and team-building experience.
