- Managing the technical team in line with management and HR best practice
- Ensure the correct maintenance, operation, and readiness of all vessels for charter including all onboard systems, rigging, inventory and hull structures per company policy and procedures
- Support the technical team to deliver the highest standards of yacht maintenance
- Maintain detailed fleet maintenance logs, including coordination of all routine servicing, A3, B6 and C12 processes
- Responsible for working with the team to ensure all major maintenance issues and owners concerns are addressed in a timely manner
- Ensure all technical areas and equipment are legally compliant (e.g. safety equipment, signage, etc.)
- Hold regular meetings with the technical team to address issues affecting the department
- Ensure phase-in and phase-out procedures are adhered to according to company policies and owner's boats have been maintained to the highest standard upon their acceptance of the boat after phase-out.
- Ensure that check-in and check-out booklets are used and signed before and after each charter
- Review debrief forms and CSQs on a regular basis and address issues affecting the yachts
- Ensure all company motor vehicles are maintained and legally compliant
- Working with management, suppliers and central purchasing to ensure stock levels are maintained and the technical team has the parts and tools needed to do the job effectively
- Oversee collection of YDW amount from customers for their insurance excess/security deposit in the case of damage or loss of equipment/inventory
- Identify and report to the Operations manager and Global Technical Director on any technical and warranty issues, insurance claims, and ensure proper reports are submitted accordingly
- Communicate with guests regarding technical issues experienced while on charter and organise chase calls if needed
- Perform technical briefings for guests upon embarkation as well as assist with sailing area briefings
- Answer calls from guests and owners regarding technical related issues they may be experiencing during their charter
- Any other duties as directed by management
