Summary

  • Guidewire provides outstanding software for the second-largest financial services industry in the world: insurance. We deliver the core applications that Property and Casualty (P/C) insurers use to build their products, sell policies, settle claims, and bill their customers. We deliver SaaS solutions via Guidewire Cloud that enable our customers to rapidly innovate and drive measurable value. Our Application Platform helps internal developers and customers build innovative insurance applications with the aim to boost developer productivity, establish a vendor ecosystem and leverage the latest cloud technologies.
  • As a Technical Program Manager, you will play a key role within Application Platform organization, driving projects internally (and with other teams). You will be responsible to drive and coordinate major platform and cloud service initiatives with the highest degree of complexity. Your impact will be felt across the organization. You will spend a significant proportion of your time developing the capabilities of the team as a whole.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own, Plan and Deliver key cross functional initiatives, technical projects and complex features
  • Recommend, Define and Measure metrics that should matter for Platform teams. Lead teams in data driven decisions when applicable. Own those metrics, inspect for variances, propose corrective actions and drive changes to improve outcomes.
  • An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected.
  • Leads and influences peers and stakeholders in identifying risks, driving change in behavior, process, technology, documentation standards and policy
  • Required Skills Experience 5+ years of experience in project/program management experience leading complex technical projects with strong preference to delivering cloud based solutions or managing Infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in enterprise software products organizations
  • Strong experience with using work planning and tracking tools (Jira, Aha, sheets) etc to improve how teams manage organize their work and report on progress.
  • Strong bias to being Metrics-driven: Experience determining effective program critical metrics and using them to measure program success and issues.
  • Be the glue that tightly aligns the otherwise loosely coupled, fast moving and high velocity teams.
  • Proficiency in change management principles and techniques to facilitate organizational change and minimize resistance.
  • Courage to pick up ambiguous problems, conduct independent research and facilitate decision making with Senior Leaders.
  • Experience in managing vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • BS/MS degree (Computer Science or Math) or equivalent level of proven professional proficiency
