About the Role

As Technology Operations Lead at Ascend Bank, you'll lead a multi-disciplinary team of infrastructure, platform, cloud, and service management professionals, ensuring our systems are resilient, scalable, and always delivering for our customers. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering excellence and operational discipline.

What You'll Do

Keep things running and continuous improvement

  • Lead daily operations across infrastructure, cloud, platform, and IT service management.
  • Own service availability, performance, and SLA/SLO targets across all systems.
  • Serve as incident commander for critical events diagnose fast, communicate clearly, close the loop with proper post-mortems.

Build the operational foundation

  • Define and improve processes for incident, change, and problem management (ITSM/ITIL).
  • Drive observability and monitoring strategy, proactive, not reactive.
  • Own disaster recovery and business continuity readiness.

Lead and grow a high-performing team

  • Manage, mentor, and develop engineers across four pillars: infrastructure, platform, cloud, and ITSM.
  • Build a culture of accountability, blameless reviews, and sustainable on-call practices.
  • Champion career growth and clear development paths within the team.

Own governance and compliance

  • Ensure operations meet BOT regulations, PDPA, ISO 27001, and internal audit requirements.
  • Report operational health and risk posture to senior leadership.
  • Partner with development, security, architecture, and product teams to keep everything aligned.

What You Bring

Must-have

  • 7+ years in Technology Operations, IT Operation, Infrastructure or Cloud Operations, IT service management or Platform Engineering.
  • At least 2 years leading a team.
  • Hands-on experience in at least two of: Infrastructure Operations, Cloud.
  • Strong incident management skills, calm under pressure, fast to resolve, clear in communication.
  • Experience in Public Cloud (AWS) and Private Cloud (HCI) and tools like Datadog, Grafana, Opensearch, or Logi.
  • Experience in API management, mobile application or core banking systems.
  • Experience in banking, fintech, or any regulated industry.
  • Prior experience working under regulatory requirements.
  • ITIL v4 Foundation or higher.
  • Good English communication.
  • Strong understanding of work-life integration and the agility of work culture.
  • Positive, proactive mindset with empathy and a strong team-first attitude.
