Job Summary:
Technology Solutions, Principal is a senior technical leader responsible for defining, architecting, and governing complex technology solutions that support business strategy and long-term scalability. This role provides technical leadership across solution design, delivery oversight, vendor management, and engineering excellence, while ensuring compliance with AIA's policies, enterprise standards, security, and regulatory requirements.
Solution Architecture & Technical Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end design and architecture of complex, large-scale, and cross-domain technology solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Translate business capabilities and requirements into solution architectures, technical designs, implementation approaches, and non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, security, and resiliency).
Delivery Oversight & Quality Assurance
- Oversee solution development to ensure quality, scalability, and maintainability.
- Review and approve technical designs, code quality, and key delivery artifacts.
- Manage technical risks, dependencies, and architectural trade-offs throughout the SDLC.
- Ensure end-to-end solution delivery across internal teams and vendors meets agreed commitments, timelines, and quality standards, proactively managing delivery risks and dependencies.
- Support UAT, production readiness, and post-deployment stability.
Compliance with AIA Policies & Standards
- Ensure all technology solutions comply with AIA IT governance frameworks, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to AIA's SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), architecture standards, change management, and documentation processes.
- Ensure strict compliance with data privacy, cybersecurity, and enterprise risk management policies.
- Participate in architecture review boards and technical governance forums.
Vendor Management & Delivery Governance
- Manage vendors across the full SDLC to ensure delivery meets functional, technical, and quality standards.
- Review and validate vendor deliverables, including solution designs, test plans, implementation approaches, and post-deployment support.
- Ensure vendor deliverables comply with enterprise architecture, IT governance, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Act as the primary technical escalation point and drive resolution of vendor-related risks and issues.
Coaching, Mentorship & Continuous Improvement
- Mentor and coach Specialists and senior engineers to uplift overall team capability and technical maturity.
- Support talent development through technical reviews, guidance, and best-practice adoption.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to modernize platforms, improve performance, and reduce technical debt.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, cloud-native architectures, and industry trends, assessing their suitability for the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Strong experience in enterprise application development and solution architecture.
- Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and SQL databases.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Azure Cloud Platform, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure SQL, and Azure Monitoring.
- Familiarity with integration and automation frameworks and tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, Selenium, JIRA, etc., for continuous integration, deployment, and testing.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
