What You Will Do
Come bring your strong background in manufacturing and test engineering and a proven track record in new product introduction practice to our expanding and dynamic team. You will be key in building and commissioning functional test systems and production process equipment. As an experienced engineer, with advanced computer literacy skills, you will be able to effectively coordinate and maintain systems and documentation processes.
This is a highly visible position interfacing across multiple functional groups such as: Operations Directors, Master Schedulers/Planners, Trimble Program Management, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing & Commodity Management, Asset management and Finance/accounting both within Trimble and at our Contract Manufacture in Thailand. This position will report to the Operations Manager, Thailand.
You'll additionally be responsible for:
- Coordinate US team to develop the new test program and test fixture for new product introduction..
- Support CM to prepare the test database installation or upgrading ( both hardware & software ), implement and validate the new testers for NPI build.
- Provide technical / product expertise to the regional test teams to ensure their readiness for the new products.
- Collect and summarize all the test related issues for NPI build, and work with teams to enhance the quality and operational efficiency in production.
- Strong hands-on experience in debugging complex PCBA and manufacturing test failures, including ICT/FCT(both PCBA and TLA), RF, UART/USB/Ethernet communication, and tester hardware/software issues.
- Able to read schematics, perform data analysis and root cause analysis, and use tools such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, spectrum analyzers to support debugging both NPI and mass production.
- Ensure ECO changes are appropriately actioned and implemented
- Drive CM to work on continuous improvement for the test yield
- Technical support for product failure analysis for normal production build and field return from customer.
- Coordinate internal team and external team to solve the tester hardware issue or sw issue.
- Maintain the test SQL database and test SW at CM site
- Manages daily test operation activities at CM and ensures production testing running smoothly
What Skills & Experience and Qualifications You Should Bring
- General technical background in electronics and mechanical manufacturing methods such as production processes, assembly processes, test systems, control software, and electronics processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Systems, Electrical or Mechanical or Test Engineering
- Demonstrable experience in electronic manufacturing/test environment.
- Experience with sub-contract manufacturing or Contract Manufactures is a plus.
- Track record of hands-on experience building and commissioning functional test systems
- Verify factory Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) studies are implemented
- Excellent understanding of wireless electronic manufacturing, assembly and test processes, and hands on experience with failure analysis
- Ability to develop assembly work instructions for new and existing products.
- Demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of associates.
- Ability to influence, lead others and promote necessary changes.
- Ability to analyze production processes and systems, and identify concerns.
- Ability to learn technical information quickly and apply it to a specific product problem.
- Basic understanding of general manufacturing processes and systems (inventory control, scheduling, new model development, and quality).
- Ability to provide technical and problem solving guidance to others.
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally
- Strong SMT experience.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project Management scheduling software. Familiar with C/C++/C#, Lab Windows, and SQL server scripts.
- Working knowledge of Quality methods associated with Design of Experiments, gauge R&R, process capability, and statistical process control.
- Ability to interface and work with suppliers and purchasing to provide consistent product quality.
- Knowledge of mechanical CAD, RF, Wireless and GPS technology is a strong plus /test environment.
Information About Your Location
This position will be based onsite at our Contract Manufacturer location in Ayutthaya, Thailand. You should have the right to work permanently in Thailand without sponsorship. You should be a passport holder and be able to travel internationally occasionally.
