Job Description

Who we are

Seven Clean Seas (SCS) builds holistic Ocean Impact Projects and empowers communities to turn the tide on plastic pollution. We deliver both environmental and social impact by strengthening waste management infrastructure in high-biodiversity, highly polluted coastal and riverine areas, while hiring and developing local teams where we operate.

At SCS, you'll join a motivated, hardworking team driven by purpose and committed to measurable, real-world impact.

Who we're looking for

Due to our growing success, we are establishing and scaling our Ocean Impact Project in Bangkok, Thailand. We are looking for a highly motivated Thailand Project Manager with a passion for the Ocean and strong operational and stakeholder management capability.

This role is central to SCS's strategy and delivery in Thailand. From day one, you will lead project planning and execution, coordinate cross-functional delivery (operations, certification, finance, partners), and ensure the Thailand project consistently meets SCS standards and Plastic Credit certification requirements.

You will be based in Bangkok and work closely with the Global Projects team and local site leadership to build strong project systems, manage stakeholders, and deliver results.

Role overview

The Thailand Project Manager is responsible for end-to-end project delivery in Thailand including translating goals into actionable plans, ensuring operational performance, supporting certification readiness, and maintaining excellent stakeholder relationships. You will also provide clear reporting on progress, risks, resourcing, and budget needs.

Key responsibilities

1) Project delivery & planning

  • Own the Thailand project plan, timeline, priorities, and delivery tracking (weekly and monthly).
  • Coordinate across teams (operations, certification, finance, partnerships) to ensure timely execution.
  • Translate client commitments and internal targets into clear workplans, resourcing plans, and KPIs.
  • Monitor performance against targets (recovery, EOL logistics, data quality, compliance) and drive corrective actions.

2) Operational oversight (with Site/Field leadership)

  • Partner closely with site leadership to ensure daily operations are efficient, safe, and aligned with SCS policies.
  • Ensure staffing structures, training, and field routines are set up to deliver consistent performance.
  • Support implementation of strong operational controls (attendance, team leader accountability, productivity tracking, incident reporting).
  • Identify operational bottlenecks early (equipment, logistics, team capacity, external dependencies) and implement solutions.

3) Certification & compliance (Plastic Credits)

  • Ensure the project consistently meets Plastic Credit certification requirements and SCS standards.
  • Maintain readiness for audits by ensuring documentation, data integrity, proof-of-treatment/EOL evidence, and SOP adherence.
  • Coordinate evidence pack preparation and internal reviews; work closely with the certification function and external auditors where relevant.

4) Stakeholder management & partnerships

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders (public sector, private sector, community-based partners).
  • Represent SCS at site visits, partner meetings, and relevant events.
  • Support partner communications by providing clear updates, progress summaries, and issue resolution.

5) Reporting, budget & risk management

  • Provide clear, structured reporting to SCS leadership on progress, needs, and risks (including early warning flags).
  • Track and forecast project costs with finance support; ensure spend aligns with approved budgets and deliverables.
  • Maintain a risk register and drive mitigation actions across safety, compliance, logistics, staffing, and stakeholder issues.

6) Team leadership & culture

  • Help build a high-performing Thailand project team through coaching, structured communication, and high standards.
  • Promote SCS values, safeguarding, and respectful workplace practices.
  • Ensure local teams understand why the work matters and how success is measured.

Qualifications

Relevant experience

  • Demonstrable experience in project management and/or operations management, including building systems and coordinating teams.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role (project delivery, program coordination, site operations, or field-based project management).
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field (project management, operations, environmental, engineering, social sciences, etc.).
  • Experience with environmental projects, waste management, circularity, or certification/audit environments is a strong advantage.
  • NGO project management experience: Prior experience managing projects in an NGO / non-profit context is strongly preferred.

Language

  • Fluent Thai required: Full professional proficiency in spoken and written Thai.
  • Spoken and written English at business professional level.

Skills & capabilities

  • Strong planning and execution skills: turning goals into clear workplans and follow-through.
  • Confident stakeholder manager with clear, professional communication.
  • Strong problem-solving ability in fast-changing, real-world conditions.
  • Comfortable working with budgets, reporting, KPIs, and operational data.
