The Role
We are looking for a UX/UI Designer with strong product thinking who goes beyond visual design.
This role combines:
- UX/UI design
- product discovery
- contribution to clear and practical PRDs
This is not a pure visual designer role and not a Product Manager role.
It is a hands-on product designer position in a real-world startup environment with constraints, legacy systems, and trade-offs.
What You Will Do
Product Discovery
- Collaborate with tech and business to understand real user and merchant problems
- Help define problem statements, hypotheses, and success criteria
- Supporting user research projects by providing alternative prototypes/alternatives
- This will be in collaboration with Product manager
- Actively participate in prioritization discussions, including deciding what not to build
UX/UI Design
- Design end-to-end user flows for web and mobile
- Create wireframes and high-fidelity designs
- Work with and gradually improve an existing design system
- Balance UX quality with development cost and delivery speed
PRD & Collaboration with Engineering
- Contribute to writing and structuring PRDs, including:
- goals and scope
- user flows
- edge cases and constraints
- Work closely with engineers and QA to reduce ambiguity and rework
- Support clear handoffs and predictable releases
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in UX/UI or product design
- Experience working on live products, not just concepts
Ability to connect design decisions with:
- user outcomes
- business impact
- engineering constraints
- Strong communication and problem-framing skills
- Comfort working with imperfect systems and legacy products
Nice to Have
- Experience in marketplaces, SaaS, or fintech-like products
- Experience in small teams or environments without a dedicated PM
- Familiarity with product metrics and outcome-based thinking
- Experience improving existing products rather than only greenfield projects
What This Role Is Not
- Not heavy micromanagement
- Not endless redesigns for visual polish only
- Not design disconnected from engineering reality
- Not a perfect UX at any cost environment
