About Our Client
Our client is a well-established manufacturing organisation operating multiple production sites across Thailand. With a strong focus on operational excellence, cost competitiveness, and sustainable growth, the business is investing in building a dedicated function to drive structured performance improvement across utilities, plant operations, and resource efficiency.
Job Description
As the Utilities & Operations Improvement Manager, you will be responsible for driving cost optimisation and operational performance across all manufacturing sites. Your role is to establish robust monitoring frameworks, lead cross-functional improvement initiatives, and build a culture of efficiency and accountability to deliver measurable and sustainable results.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and manage daily and weekly performance dashboards across all plants, tracking key operational metrics including resource consumption per unit of output, peak demand, and utility cost per site.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all reporting systems, aligned with SAP and MES platforms where applicable, and support the rollout and setup of these systems across all manufacturing sites.
- Identify, prioritise, and execute cost-saving initiatives, leading cross-functional teams to eliminate waste, reduce inefficient utility usage, and address avoidable demand-related cost penalties.
- Establish standardised operational KPIs and reporting frameworks across all sites, conduct performance audits, benchmark results against industry standards, and facilitate best practice sharing between plants.
- Apply structured continuous improvement methodologies and recognised management system frameworks to drive consistent performance uplift across all manufacturing operations.
- Evaluate and drive ROI-based capital investment projects including renewable energy solutions, high-efficiency equipment, and automation systems, preparing business cases with Payback and IRR analysis.
- Launch and sustain operational improvement campaigns across all plants, building team awareness and discipline and embedding a culture of cost accountability at plant level.
- Support the delivery of year-on-year performance improvement targets, progressing from early-stage gains toward world-class operational efficiency benchmarks.
Qualifications
You will be an analytical, hands-on engineering professional with a strong track record in operations, utilities management, and cost reduction within a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, utilities management, or continuous improvement roles.
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset with the ability to translate operational data into clear, actionable insight.
- Proven experience delivering measurable cost reduction or performance improvement projects in a multi-site manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of utility systems, plant operations, and recognised management frameworks such as ISO 50001 or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive accountability at plant level beyond reporting.
- Results-driven with strong ownership of cost and performance KPIs and the ability to balance hands-on execution with strategic thinking.
