Job Description

Role Overview

The Vice President, Project Management is responsible for leading and overseeing end-to-end project management for power plant, solar farm, renewable energy, EPC, and construction-related projects. This role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality, safety, contractual, and regulatory requirements. This role also requires capability in managing international construction projects, particularly solar farm and wind farm developments across Thailand and overseas. The successful candidate should have strong experience in power plant or solar farm project management, including construction project management, EPC project execution, contract management, budget control, finance coordination, and cross-functional stakeholder management. This position will work closely with top management, Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Legal, contractors, consultants, government authorities, and business partners to ensure successful project delivery and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

1. Project Management Leadership

  • Lead and oversee end-to-end project management for power plant, solar farm, renewable energy, EPC, and construction projects.
  • Develop project execution plans, project schedules, resource plans, budget plans, and risk management plans.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to agreed scope and quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress, key milestones, budget utilization, project risks, and overall performance.
  • Provide strategic direction, guidance, and problem-solving support to project teams.

2. Construction & EPC Management

  • Oversee construction and EPC activities from planning, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, site operation, and external contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Ensure project execution complies with engineering standards, safety requirements, environmental requirements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review construction progress, site issues, technical challenges, and project constraints, and provide timely solutions.
  • Drive project discipline, accountability, and execution excellence across all project sites.

3. Contract Management

  • Review and manage EPC contracts, construction contracts, subcontractor agreements, and related project documents.
  • Monitor contractual obligations, project claims, variation orders, change orders, and commercial risks.
  • Work closely with Legal, Procurement, Finance, and Commercial teams to ensure proper contract compliance.
  • Support negotiation and resolution of contractual issues with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and partners.
  • Ensure all project documentation, approvals, and contract records are properly maintained.

4. Budget & Financial Control

  • Manage project budget, cost control, cash flow, forecast, and project financial performance.
  • Work closely with Finance and Accounting teams to monitor project expenses, payment milestones, cost variance, and profitability.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage financial risks related to project execution.
  • Review project cost reports, budget status, and financial impacts for management decision-making.
  • Ensure project spending is aligned with approved budget and company policy.

5. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Management

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including top management, Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Legal, contractors, consultants, suppliers, government agencies, and business partners.
  • Support project-related commercial discussions with Sales, Business Development, Overseas Sales, and client-facing teams.
  • Manage contractor and subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with scope, timeline, cost, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Lead project meetings, progress reviews, issue resolution discussions, and executive reporting.
  • Communicate in English with international clients, contractors, consultants, and government agencies to ensure smooth project execution across borders.
  • Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders to support project success, including feasibility studies, contract negotiations, and execution strategies both in Thailand and international markets.

6. Risk Management, Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans covering schedule, cost, quality, contract, construction, safety, and regulatory matters.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality, engineering, and company standards.
  • Monitor project issues, delays, and constraints, and escalate key risks to management when required.
  • Ensure required permits, licenses, approvals, and regulatory requirements are properly obtained and maintained.
  • Promote strong safety culture and operational discipline across project teams and contractors.
  • Proven ability to manage unexpected disruptions (supply chain issues, regulatory changes, geopolitical risks).

7. Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop project managers, engineers, site teams, and cross-functional project members.
  • Set team objectives, monitor performance, and ensure clear accountability across project teams.
  • Build project management capability and promote ownership, collaboration, and problem-solving mindset.
  • Support talent development, succession planning, and knowledge sharing within the project management function.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on delivery, quality, safety, and business results.

8. Executive Reporting & Business Support

  • Prepare and present project status, budget updates, risk reports, and key decision points to executive management.
  • Provide recommendations to management on project risks, cost impact, timeline impact, and mitigation actions.
  • Support business expansion, new project development, feasibility review, and project execution strategy when required.
  • Provide project insights to support management decisions and long-term business planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Strong experience in Power Plant, Solar Farm, Renewable Energy, EPC, or Construction Project Management.
  • Solid understanding of construction management, EPC project execution, contract management, budget control, and project finance coordination.
  • Experience managing complex projects and cross-functional project teams.
  • Experience working with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, government agencies, and business partners.
  • Experience in a public listed company, energy business, power plant business, or renewable energy business is preferred.
  • Experience working with overseas sales, international partners, or international projects is an advantage.
  • Experience in managing international energy projects (solar farm, wind farm, or power plant construction) is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong business sense with the ability to balance technical, commercial, contractual, and financial aspects.
  • Able to work closely with top management and manage projects under pressure.
  • Background in power plants, solar farm, renewable energy, EPC, or construction project execution.
  • Strong hands-on experience in project planning, construction supervision, contractor management, and project delivery.
  • Good understanding of project budget, cost control, contract terms, claims, variation orders, and financial impact.
  • Mature leadership style with ownership mindset, accountability, and strong execution capability.
  • Strong English communication skills to coordinate effectively with global stakeholders, international contractors, consultants, and government authorities.
