Job Description

The Vice President – Indirect Procurement is responsible for defining and driving the organization's overall indirect procurement strategy to support business growth, operational efficiency, cost optimization, and risk management.

This role typically acts as both a strategic business partner and functional leader, overseeing procurement operations, supplier management, transformation initiatives, and organizational capability development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning & Governance

  • Develop and implement procurement policies, standards, and governance frameworks for indirect procurement activities.
  • Lead budget planning, cost management, and overall operational control within the procurement function.
  • Formulate procurement strategies and supplier sourcing strategies to optimize costs, enhance service quality, and mitigate supply risks.
  • Establish annual procurement plans aligned with business objectives and operational requirements.
  • Drive supplier management and supplier risk management strategies, including performance evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of procurement processes, procurement systems, and organizational capabilities within the procurement team.

2. Operational Management

  • Oversee and manage the annual performance and operational effectiveness of the procurement function.
  • Monitor supplier performance, compliance, and risk management to ensure business continuity and operational excellence.
  • Drive execution of procurement transformation initiatives, including process improvement, digitalization, and talent development programs.
  • Ensure procurement operations are aligned with corporate governance, compliance standards, and internal policies.

3. Stakeholder Management & External Collaboration

  • Initiate and support strategic projects and collaborations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build strong partnerships with universities, procurement associations, industry institutions, and government organizations to strengthen procurement capabilities and industry engagement.
  • Represent the organization in procurement-related forums, professional networks, and industry initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management, with substantial experience in indirect procurement leadership roles.
  • Proven track record in developing procurement strategies, cost optimization, supplier management, and procurement transformation initiatives.
  • Strong experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, supplier risk management, and category management.
  • Experience leading large-scale procurement operations within FMCG, manufacturing, retail, or multinational organizations is highly preferred.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance cost efficiency, quality, service, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in managing cross-functional teams and driving organizational change.
  • Experience with procurement systems, ERP platforms, and digital procurement tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and compliance mindset.
  • Fluent in English and Thai, both written and spoken.
