Job Description
Assist the Safety Manager/Project Manager in all workplace safety, health, environmental, and welfare matters to ensure the project complies with statutory requirements, project specifications, and company policies.
Serve as the designated Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) and Environmental Control Officer (ECO) for the project.
Implement, monitor, and maintain the Workplace Safety and Health Management System (WSHMS) and Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
Conduct daily site safety, health, and environmental inspections, identify hazards and environmental issues, and ensure timely corrective actions are implemented.
Ensure risk assessments, Safe Work Procedures (SWPs), and environmental control measures are effectively implemented and complied with on site.
Investigate workplace accidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses, environmental incidents, and complaints, and prepare investigation reports with corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor environmental control measures, including dust, noise, waste management, water pollution control, erosion and sediment control, vector control, and housekeeping.
Liaise and coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, government authorities (MOM, NEA, etc.), and other stakeholders on safety and environmental matters.
Conduct safety and environmental induction programmes, toolbox meetings, and awareness training for project personnel.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly safety and environmental reports as required.
Ensure all personnel comply with the Workplace Safety and Health Act, Environmental Public Health Act, applicable regulations, and project requirements.
Promote a strong safety and environmental culture and drive continuous improvement initiatives on site.
Job Requirements
At least 3 years of relevant experience in the construction industry, preferably with a developer or main contractor.
Must be a registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with MOM.
Must be a registered Environmental Control Officer (ECO) with NEA.
Experience in developing and implementing Risk Management Plans (bizSAFE Level 2 or equivalent) is preferred.
Good knowledge of Singapore WSH and environmental legislation, Codes of Practice, and industry standards.
Strong communication, coordination, and report-writing skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Able to work independently and as part of a project team.
Able to commence work immediately or within short notice.
