Job Description

Position Summary

The Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) is responsible forimplementing and maintaining the Company's Workplace Safety & HealthManagement System to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, clientspecifications and company safety standards. The role works closely withproject teams to promote a strong safety culture and support the safe executionof EPC water, wastewater and ultrapure water treatment projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Management System in compliance with MOM regulations, the WSH Act and project requirements including all the required documentation, permit and necessary licence.
  • Advise management on all Workplace Safety & Health matters and recommend measures to improve workplace safety performance.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits and risk assessments to identify hazards, rectify any unsafe practice and ensure compliance with statutory and project safety requirements.
  • Audit all sub-contractors to ensure compliance with MOM regulation, WSH Acts, projects and clients safety requirements.

. Conduct safety committee meeting andconduct in-house WSH training and briefings.

. Developand conduct emergency response drills

  • Develop, review and implement Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Method Statements and Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
  • Organise and conduct site safety inductions, toolbox meetings, safety briefings, safety walks and awareness programmes.
  • Lead investigation of any accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences and near misses, and implement corrective and preventive actions, ensure compliance with statutory regulatory and clients standard requirement with necessary incident reports and documentations.
  • Monitor subcontractors safety performance and ensure compliance with company and client safety requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain safety documentation, inspection records, statutory reports and monthly safety performance reports.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and regulatory authorities on Workplace Safety & Health matters.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency preparedness and environmental compliance at project sites.

. Identify, assess and make recommendations tomanage foreseeable risks and safety infringements.

. Participatein Internal Auditor for OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001

. Fostera proactive safety mindset among workers.

  • Support quality, environmental and continuous improvement initiatives in accordance with the Company's Integrated Management System.

Requirements

  • Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Singapore.
  • Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant WSH experience in EPC, construction, process plant, water or industrial projects.
  • Good knowledge of the Workplace Safety & Health Act, WSH Regulations, Code of Practice and relevant Singapore statutory requirements.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations and safety audits.
  • Familiar with Permit-to-Work systems, lifting operations, confined space entry, work at height and hot work activities.
  • Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage employees, subcontractors and clients.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Power Point applications.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently in a fast-paced project environment.
