Job Purpose
The Account & Finance Director will lead the financial strategy, accounting operations, and governance of the Education Technology business.
This role is critical in supporting business growth through financial planning, data-driven insights, scalable financial systems, and strong compliance, with a strong preference for candidates from Technology, Digital, SaaS, or Platform-based businesses.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy & Business Partnership
- Act as a strategic finance partner to CEO and leadership team in driving sustainable growth and profitability
- Translate business strategy, product roadmap, and expansion plans into financial models and forecasts
- Provide financial insights and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making in a fast-paced tech environment
2. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial planning
- Develop financial models for new products, platforms, pricing strategies, and market expansion
- Monitor financial performance against targets and proactively identify risks and opportunities
3. Accounting, Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee end-to-end accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards
- Ensure statutory compliance, tax planning, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to management and stakeholders
4. Technology-driven Finance & Systems
- Lead the implementation and optimization of Finance Systems / ERP / Accounting Software suitable for a technology-driven business
- Drive automation, digitalization, and data integration across finance processes
- Ensure financial systems can scale with business growth and support real-time reporting
5. Cash Flow, Treasury & Risk Management
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support rapid growth
- Oversee treasury, banking relationships, and funding activities (if applicable)
- Identify and manage financial, operational, and business risks
6. Commercial Finance & Revenue Management
- Partner with Commercial, Product, and Sales teams on pricing models, revenue recognition, and unit economics
- Ensure proper revenue recognition for subscription-based, platform, or digital learning products
- Support contract review, commercial terms, and profitability analysis
7. Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop high-performing finance and accounting teams
- Build finance capabilities aligned with technology and data-driven culture
- Foster a mindset of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields
- CPA, CFA, or other professional certifications are a strong advantage
Experience
- Minimum 1215 years of experience in Accounting & Finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Proven experience in Technology, Digital, SaaS, Platform, or Technology-driven businesses is required
- Experience in high-growth, scale-up, or transformation environments
- Exposure to Education or EdTech businesses is an advantage but not mandatory
