We are seeking an experienced Accounting Director to lead and oversee all accounting operations for our retail business. The ideal candidate must have strong retail industry experience, a CPA license, and proven leadership capability in managing large accounting teams and multi-branch operations. This role is responsible for financial accuracy, compliance, internal controls, inventory accounting, and supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee full-cycle accounting and month-end/year-end closing.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with TFRS / IFRS.
- Manage statutory reporting, tax filings (VAT, CIT), and liaise with external auditors.
2. Retail Accounting & Inventory Control
- Supervise inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, shrinkage analysis, and costing.
- Ensure proper revenue recognition across multi-branch retail operations.
- Monitor gross margin, markdowns, promotions, and inventory turnover.
- Oversee POS system integration with ERP.
3. Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Strengthen internal controls across stores and head office.
- Improve accounting workflows, automation, and ERP utilization (SAP/Oracle preferred).
- Lead accounting policy implementation and standardization.
4. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop accounting team (GL, AP, AR, Inventory, Tax).
- Provide guidance, performance evaluation, and succession planning.
- Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Merchandising teams.
5. Budgeting & Strategic Support
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Provide financial insights to improve profitability and cost control.
- Partner with senior management on expansion plans and new store openings.
Qualifications
- CPA license (required).
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 1015 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in retail business.
- Strong knowledge of inventory accounting and multi-branch retail operations.
