ASIA OPERATIONS MANAGER The Travel Corporation · Bangkok, Thailand (Hybrid)

This role sits at the heart of how we deliver exceptional journeys across one of the world's most dynamic and diverse regions from Japan's cultural landmarks to Southeast Asia's hidden gems to the Indian Subcontinent. Working closely with Ground Handler partners across the region, you'll ensure our guests on Insight Vacations, Trafalgar, Luxury Gold and Costsaver tours receive the standard of experience our brands are known for.
THE REGION
You will be responsible for operational delivery across Japan, South Korea, China, Southeast Asia, and the Indian Subcontinent a portfolio that spans both established destinations and emerging markets. Managing multiple Ground Handler partnerships across this region, you'll be a key point of contact for our global teams when challenges need resolving quickly and decisively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary operational contact for Ground Handlers, ensuring brand standards are clearly communicated and consistently upheld
- Conduct briefings and debriefings as required with Travel Directors and Travel Concierge to set departures up for success
- Monitor and collate guest feedback across FEEFO, questionnaires, and Travel Director reports translating insights into meaningful improvements for product design
- Manage on-road operational issues with composure, escalating where necessary and ensuring all company procedures are followed
- Carry out supplier and venue quality inspections, with corrective actions implemented within agreed timeframes
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date Technical Itineraries accessible to our global teams
- Collaborate with Ground Handler partners to develop and source new travel experiences
- Deliver training for Travel Directors, key suppliers, and Sales and Marketing teams
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- A collaborative decision-maker. This is a manager-level role in scope and responsibility you'll be trusted to make sound operational decisions and influence outcomes across the region. At this stage, the role does not carry direct reports; it's been designed to build and shape our Asia operations during a period of growth, with the expectation that the team around it will evolve over time.
- Some Japanese goes a long way. If you have conversational Japanese, it will help you build stronger relationships across the region but we won't let language hold back the right candidate.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience operating or contracting guided journeys is preferred
- Prior experience working with ground handlers is an advantage
- Having lived, studied, or worked in Australia, the UK, the US, or another key source market is beneficial
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required
- The right to work in Thailand is essential
