Who We Are Looking For
As an Assistant Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in accelerating merchant acquisition and expanding our brand ecosystem across various categories and channels. This role is ideal for someone with strong commercial instincts, experience in identifying high-potential merchants, and the ability to drive end-to-end acquisition effortsfrom lead generation to onboarding and early-stage growth.
You will focus on sourcing and securing local and emerging brands, especially those with potential for scale across online and offline retail. You&aposll also play a crucial role in shaping acquisition tactics, providing market insights, and supporting category strategy alignment with the broader BD leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and approach new brand opportunities via social commerce, e-commerce platforms, and offline retail, including niche, long-tail, and high-growth potential merchants.
- Conduct merchant research and qualification to assess fit, growth potential, and category alignment.
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective partners that support both commercial goals and strategic category expansion.
- Lead initial outreach, value proposition pitching, and onboarding coordination for new partners.
- Provide hands-on support throughout the merchant activation journeycovering listing setup, campaign readiness, and promotional guidance.
- Foster early-stage relationships and ensure seamless handover to Account Management or Senior BD team when applicable.
- Analyze seller trends, consumer demands, pricing gaps, and product opportunities to help steer category strategies.
- Track competitor activities and identify whitespace opportunities in product assortment or merchant services.
- Deliver actionable insights and sourcing recommendations to the BD leadership team.
- Work closely with internal teams such as Operations, Marketing, and Account Management to ensure smooth merchant onboarding and early growth traction.
- Assist in planning and executing BD campaigns, merchant acquisition events, and educational sessions for potential sellers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor&aposs degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 25 years of experience in business development, merchant acquisition, sales, or e-commerce.
- Strong understanding of the Thai commerce landscape, especially social commerce and SME ecosystems.
- Solid communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Data-driven and organized, with the ability to manage multiple pipelines and prioritize leads effectively.
- Proficient in tools such as Excel, Google Workspace, and CRM systems.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
- Fluent in Thai with good command of English.
