Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Identify new business opportunities for assigned territories / target market segments and ideal target customers
- Growth of existing assigned customers through cross selling new services.
- Identify market trends and competitive rate actions and communicates those trends to the product and management teams
- Exercises proactive solution development for target and existing customers
- Builds a solid understanding of target customers/assigned account base (contact, commodities/ trade lanes, type of business, contract information/exceptions, and service requirements)
- Assists and drives response strategy in the preparation of RFQ's and bids
- Identifies the competitive landscape and makes recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives
- Provides weekly and monthly performance metrics to the sales administrator
- Understands pricing and cost components associated with proposed solutions
- Performs for other duties including: sales presentations, developing deliverables, coordinating implementation, creating and adding to existing marketing materials
- Enters new customer data and other sales data for clients into Toll CRM and maintains this information per company policy
- Meets specific volume and revenue requirements for each product in the Toll portfolio as designated by the SVP, Sales
- Manages time and sales territory to be able to reach the desired amount of sales calls on a weekly basis ensuring maximum Toll exposure to the market
- Ensures effective and timely responses to all sales leads/key correspondence within identified timelines
- Manages expenses and other company assets in accordance with corporate guidelines
- Complies with all Toll policies and guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES
- Year-over-year growth in volume, Gross Profit and revenue, in line with company metrics
- Achievement of agreed service KPIs and customer satisfaction.
- Accuracy and timeliness of CRM data and business reporting.
- Alignment and execution of account development processes
- Successful implementation and governance of SOPs.
- Retention and expansion of key customers
Previous Work Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or account management.
- Expertise in international and domestic logistics (air, ocean, customs).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to interpret data into actionable business insights.
- High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce).
- Experience with EDI/API-based performance management and KPI tracking preferred.
- Proven record in managing complex customer relationships and driving account growth.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable influencing across levels and geographies without direct authority.
- Strong relationship-building capabilities.
- Ambitious thinker with a results-oriented mindset.
- Resilient, adaptable, and culturally aware.
- Self-motivated, with ability to work independently.
- High integrity and professionalism.
