Job Summary
Fraser Suites Bangkok in Thailand is slated to open in 2026. This role is responsible for the overall maintenance, operation, and reliability of all building systems and equipment within the hotel property. The role ensures a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment to support uninterrupted hotel operations and optimal guest experience.
Responsibilities
Core
Engineering Operations
- Oversee daily engineering and maintenance operations within the hotel property
- Ensure proper functioning of all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire & life safety systems, kitchen equipment, elevators, and guestroom facilities
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests, breakdowns, and emergency situations
- Ensure minimal downtime of critical hotel systems
Preventive Maintenance
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all hotel equipment and systems
- Ensure timely execution of maintenance schedules to prolong asset life and reduce breakdowns
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations including fire safety, health & safety, and environmental standards
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments of property facilities
- Ensure proper functioning of fire detection, alarm, and life safety systems
- Support emergency response procedures and drills
Vendor & Contractor Management
- Manage external contractors for maintenance, repair, and specialist services
- Supervise quality of outsourced work and ensure adherence to hotel standards
- Coordinate procurement of engineering supplies, spare parts, and services
Budget & Cost Control
- Assist in preparing and managing the engineering department budget
- Monitor maintenance costs and ensure cost-effective operations
- Support energy conservation and utility optimization initiatives
Pre-opening, Projects & Upgrades
- Participate in the engineering aspects of hotel pre-opening activities including system testing, commissioning, and handover from project/construction teams
- Review MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) design, drawings, and specifications to ensure operational suitability and brand standards compliance
- Participate in defect identification, and rectification with contractors prior to hotel opening
- Localise engineering P&Ps, preventive maintenance programs, and asset registers prior to opening
- Support procurement and installation of all operating equipment, tools, and engineering supplies
- Assist in setting up Building Management Systems (BMS), Fire & Life Safety systems, and all operational infrastructure
- Recruit, onboard, and train the engineering team for pre-opening readiness
- Participate in pre-opening timelines, budget planning, and readiness reviews to ensure on-time opening
- Support renovation, refurbishment, and minor project works within the property
- Coordinate installation of new systems or equipment with minimal disruption to operation
Leadership
- Lead and supervise the engineering team including technicians and supervisors
- Plan daily work assignments, shifts, and manpower allocation
- Provide training and guidance to ensure technical competency and safety awareness
- Conduct performance reviews and support team development
- Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and preventive maintenance
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise closely with key stakeholders within One Bangkok development, including owners, developers, project management teams, and shared infrastructure providers
- Coordinate engineering-related requirements with central utilities and shared services (if applicable)
- Represent the hotel engineering function in meetings with asset ownership and development teams
- Ensure alignment of hotel engineering standards with One Bangkok operational requirements and infrastructure guidelines
- Maintain effective communication with internal departments, corporate teams, and external partners to support smooth operations
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities Engineering, or related field
- Relevant technical certifications (HVAC, electrical systems, fire safety) are an advantage
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in engineering or facilities maintenance
- At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or engineering management role
- Experience in hotels, serviced apartments, or commercial buildings preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems
- Good understanding of hotel building operations and maintenance systems
- Preventive maintenance planning and execution skills
- Strong problem-solving and fault diagnosis ability
- Leadership and team supervision skills
- Knowledge of safety regulations and statutory compliance requirements
- Vendor coordination and basic project management skills
- Good communication and reporting skills
