Position: Civil Engineer / Field Engineer – 2 Year Contract

Position Reports to: Head of Global Engineering

Department: Operations

Location: Surat Thani, Thailand

Role Summary:

As part of an ambitious transformation plan, Lifestyles Healthcare is investing in modernizing its manufacturing and operational footprint to support future growth, operational efficiency, and sustainability.

In support of our transformation program, we are seeking a Civil Engineer / Field Engineer to assist in designing the infrastructure upgrades and facility improvement initiatives required to support our projects.

Working closely with global engineering, operations, and external contractors, the role will ensure that civil and infrastructure elements of transformation projects are executed efficiently, safely, and in line with engineering standards.

This is a hands-on field role, requiring strong project coordination skills and the ability to manage engineering works across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Transformation Project Delivery

  • Support the delivery of civil engineering workstreams within a global supply chain transformation program.
  • Execute site infrastructure projects required to support manufacturing upgrades, capacity expansion, and operational changes.
  • Coordinate project timelines, engineering specifications, and contractor activities to ensure successful implementation.

Site Infrastructure & Engineering

  • Assess and design improvements to site infrastructure, structural works, utilities, drainage, and foundations required for transformation initiatives.
  • Support site modifications, equipment installation preparation, facility upgrades, and layout changes.
  • Ensure infrastructure is fit-for-purpose to support new operational processes and production technologies.

Field Engineering & Site Coordination

  • Conduct on-site engineering assessments and inspections across multiple locations.
  • Provide technical support during construction, installation, and commissioning phases.
  • Work closely with site leadership and project teams to ensure minimal disruption to operations.

Contractor & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage and coordinate external engineering contractors and construction partners.
  • Act as the technical interface between project teams, site operations, and engineering suppliers.
  • Ensure consistent engineering standards across transformation sites.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all engineering works comply with local building regulations, environmental standards, and company EHS policies.
  • Promote safe working practices during all project and construction activities.

What You Will Do:

  • Support the civil engineering workstreams of a global transformation program
  • Conduct site assessments and technical evaluations to identify civil and structural requirements for transformation initiatives.
  • Coordinate construction, refurbishment, and infrastructure modification projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Work closely with operations, engineering, and project teams to prepare sites for new equipment installations, layout changes, and process upgrades.
  • Manage and oversee external contractors, engineering consultants, and construction partners during project execution.
  • Ensure that all works comply with local building regulations, environmental standards, and company EHS policies.
  • Provide on-site technical support during installation and commissioning phases of new manufacturing infrastructure.
  • Identify opportunities to improve site infrastructure, optimize layouts, and enhance operational efficiency as part of the transformation program.
  • Maintain clear documentation, reporting, and project tracking to support governance within the transformation program.

Qualifications and Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5+ years experience in civil engineering, construction, or field engineering, ideally in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting large-scale transformation, infrastructure upgrade, or facility modernization projects.
  • Strong understanding of site infrastructure, structural works, drainage, utilities, and facility construction.
  • Experience managing contractors and site engineering activities.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced project environments with multiple stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in FMCG, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in large-scale supply chain or manufacturing transformation programs.
  • Familiarity with plant layout changes, production line installations, or facility redesign.
  • Professional engineering certification or chartership.
