Position: Mechanical and Electrical Engineer

Position Reports to: Head of Global Engineering

Department: Operations

Location: Surat Thani, Thailand

Role Summary:

As part of an ambitious transformation plan, Lifestyles Healthcare is investing in modernizing its manufacturing and operational footprint to support future growth, operational efficiency, and sustainability.

In support of our transformation program, we are seeking a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to assist in delivering engineering upgrades, equipment installations, and facility improvements required to support new production capabilities and operational efficiencies.

Working closely with global engineering teams, site operations, and external contractors, the role will ensure that mechanical and electrical systems supporting production lines and site utilities are designed, installed, and commissioned effectively.

This is a hands-on field engineering role, requiring strong technical knowledge and the ability to coordinate engineering works across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Transformation Project Delivery

  • Support the delivery of mechanical and electrical engineering workstreams within a global supply chain transformation program.
  • Coordinate engineering activities related to new equipment installations, automation upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Ensure engineering projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with operational requirements.

Equipment & Systems Engineering

  • Provide technical expertise in mechanical systems, electrical systems, and production equipment integration.
  • Support installation and commissioning of manufacturing lines, utilities systems, and plant infrastructure.
  • Work with engineering teams to ensure equipment performance meets operational specifications.

Field Engineering & Site Support

  • Conduct on-site engineering assessments, inspections, and troubleshooting across manufacturing sites.
  • Support start-up and commissioning phases for new production equipment and facility upgrades.
  • Work closely with site teams to minimize operational disruption during transformation activities.

Contractor & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate external engineering contractors, equipment vendors, and service providers.
  • Serve as the technical interface between project teams, site operations, and suppliers.
  • Ensure consistent engineering standards and project execution across sites.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all engineering work complies with local regulations, safety standards, and company EHS policies.
  • Support safe installation and operation of mechanical and electrical systems across transformation projects.

What You Will Do:

  • Support the mechanical and electrical engineering workstreams of a global transformation program.
  • Coordinate the installation, commissioning, and integration of new manufacturing equipment and production lines.
  • Assess existing mechanical, electrical, and utilities infrastructure to ensure readiness for operational changes.
  • Work closely with operations and project teams to support site layout changes, equipment upgrades, and capacity expansion initiatives.
  • Manage and oversee external contractors, engineering consultants, and equipment suppliers during installation and upgrade projects.
  • Provide on-site technical support during equipment installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure all mechanical and electrical systems comply with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company engineering guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and energy performance.
  • Maintain technical documentation, engineering drawings, and project reports to support governance within the transformation program.

Qualifications and Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years experience in mechanical/electrical engineering within a latex or glove manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting equipment installation, commissioning, or facility upgrade projects.
  • Strong knowledge of production equipment, plant utilities, and industrial electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Experience managing contractors, equipment vendors, and engineering service providers.
  • Strong project coordination and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced project environments with multiple stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in FMCG, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing transformation or automation projects.
  • Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment, automation systems, or industrial controls.
  • Professional engineering certification or chartership.
