Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Product Qualifications – Design, System, and Implementation – 40%
  • Serve as the primary Product Engineer interface for Contract Manufacturing during the design transfer and New Product Introduction (NPI) phase
  • Create and maintain all essential product documentation, including Bill of Materials (BOMs), process workflows, work instructions, and control plans
  • Analyze and resolve complex product-related issues during prototyping, pilot runs, and ramp-up phases
  • Facilitate the smooth transition of products from NPI to volume production, ensuring all processes are stable, capable, and documented
  • Work closely with NPI Engineer
  • Introduction of New Customers and Implementation of New Programs -30 %
  • Act as a key member of the cross-functional launch team (Engineering, Operations, Product Line Managers (PLMs), Field Applications Engineer (FAEs), Regional Sales Manager (RSM) Supply Chain, Quality) for new customer onboarding and new program implementation
  • Execute timely the Engineering Project Timeline, ensuring all technical milestones are met on schedule.
  • Maintain and Enhance Quality Control Systems - 20%
  • Develop and implement robust Quality Control plans, including in-process inspection criteria, statistical process control (SPC) methodologies, and final acceptance testing protocols.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) initiatives for product non-conformances, customer returns, and field failures utilizing tools like 8D, 5-Whys, and Fishbone diagrams
  • Drive continuous improvement activities to reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), including scrap, rework, and warranty claims
  • Develop Systems for Easy and Best-in-Class Manufacturing Strategy - 10%
  • Champion the development and implementation of standardized engineering processes, tools, and templates to streamline NPI and reduce time-to-volume

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or Electrical Engineering, Optics, Physics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred,
  • Minimum of 3+ years of product or manufacturing engineering experience, preferably within contract manufacturing, high-speed optics packaging field, with a product engineer role.
  • Proven track record of successfully introducing multiple new products and managing customers in a manufacturing environment.
  • Deep expertise in GD&T, statistical analysis, DOE, and validation methodologies
  • Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to influence customers and internal stakeholders
  • Good communication skills in both English, Thai and Chinese (bonus).

Skills

  • Proficiient in Data analysis by JMP or Mini-tab.
  • Familiar with Transceiver, OSA product structure.
  • Prefer a similar product engineer working experience in the past.
  • Adaptability, Innovation, Planning and Organizing, Problem Solving, Decision Making and Continuous Improvement, Professional and Technical Knowledge and Skills, Reliable and Dependable, Results Oriented, Teamwork.

Working Conditions

Working conditions typical of a climate-controlled and professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, etc.

Situated in Thailand, willing to visit Wuxi, China for training and regular Team development plan
