Job Description

Responsibilities

Commercial Performance & Analytics

  • Track and analyze overall commercial performance, including sales target achievement, revenue growth, margin performance, and category mix.
  • Develop dashboards and analytics to visualize commercial performance trends for merchandising, and senior management.
  • Monitor and report on key commercial and merchandising KPIs, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery.

Merchandising & Category Analytics

  • Analyze merchandising‑related data (sales, margins, inventory, assortment) to uncover insights that improve category performance.
  • Support category managers with insights on product mix optimization, assortment effectiveness, and lifecycle performance.
  • Identify under‑ and over‑performing SKUs, brands, and categories to support commercial action planning.

Pricing & Promotion Analytics

  • Perform pricing and promotion analyses to evaluate effectiveness and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Support the definition of pricing and promotional strategies that maximize profit, increase sales, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze promotion uplift, cannibalization, and post‑promotion performance to inform future promotional planning.

Forecasting & Planning Support

  • Support planning cycles by producing forecast accuracy reports and performance evaluations.
  • Analyze variances between forecasted and actual performance, identifying root causes and improvement actions.
  • Provide analytical support during budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting cycles in collaboration with planning and finance teams.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with category management, planning, supply chain, store operations and finance teams to deliver data‑driven insights.
  • Act as a commercial analytics partner, helping stakeholders optimize product mix, space allocation, pricing, and inventory decisions.
  • Support ad‑hoc analyses and strategic initiatives related to commercial and merchandising performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, commercial analytics, or business intelligence
  • Experience in travel retail, retail merchandising, FMCG, or luxury retail is strongly preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, PivotTables, Power Query)
  • Experience with BI and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of sales, margin, pricing, promotion, and inventory analytics
  • Ability to work with large datasets from POS, ERP, and planning systems
  • SQL or data modeling experience is a plus
