Company is seeking a visionary Director of Government Affairs to lead our legislative and regulatory strategy. This role focuses on Thailand and the ASEAN region, serving as the primary liaison between company and high-level government entities to drive favorable policy and safeguard our business interests.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and execute advocacy strategies regarding trade, industrial incentives, electrification (CO2/EV), and automotive regulations.
- Act as the lead negotiator with cabinet-level officials, the BOI, and industry associations to shape the Thailand/ASEAN policy landscape.
- Monitor political shifts and global tensions to provide proactive guidance on business impact, operational costs, and profitability.
- Cultivate Best-in-Class relationships with top-tier government leaders, the US Embassy, and trade coalitions to champion company's agenda.
- Identify and mitigate geopolitical and regulatory risks, leading crisis response efforts to protect corporate reputation and investments.

- Leadership & Mindset: An entrepreneurial, out-of-the-box thinker with a collaborative attitude and a proven track record of transparent, candid communication.
- Established Network: Possesses a deep, existing network among key Thai policymakers and an intimate understanding of the legislative process from grassroots to cabinet levels.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of trade agreements, fuel economy standards, and government automotive support programs.
- Global Perspective: Experience working in international markets outside of Thailand is highly preferred.
- Mobility: Open to potential future relocation.
Qualifications
- (Master's preferred) in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, International Relations, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 15 years of distinguished experience in Government Affairs, Public Policy, or Regulatory Compliance, with a strong preference for leaders from the Automotive or heavy industrial sectors.
- Demonstrated experience operating in international markets beyond Thailand; candidates must be open to potential regional relocation in the future.
- Exceptional negotiation prowess with the ability to deconstruct complex legislative texts and provide decisive leadership during high-stakes crisis management.
- A deep understanding of the intersection between government policy and commercial profitability, ensuring all advocacy aligns with company's business goals.
- Absolute fluency in both Thai and English is required. Must possess the proactive communication style necessary to influence C-suite decision-making.
- Prepared to travel both domestically and across the ASEAN region to engage with key regional stakeholders.
