Summary

Job Purpose:

The Director of Sales is responsible for all aspects of the Sales activities include overseeing the planning and development of promotional strategies, assist the sales & events team and reporting on effectiveness of the plan. This role supports the Commercial Director in the hotel's segmented sales effort (e.g., group, transient, association, corporate, etc.) and responsible for implementing the segment sales strategy and achieving segment revenue goals, property revenue goals and guest and associate satisfaction.Leads and manages all day-to-day activities related to the sales function with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of hotel sales objectives.Achieves personal booking goals and makes recommendations on booking goals of direct reports.

Leadership & Sales Management:

.Monitor all day-to-day activities of direct reports.

.Provide positive and assertive leadership to maximize revenue potential within the hotel

.Works with sales leaders to ensure understanding of sales strategy and effective implementation of this strategy for the segment.

.Develop and manages relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.

.Strengthens relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, wholesalers, and event organizers to secure long-term contracts and increase market share.

.Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities

.Analyze market information by using sales systems and implements strategy to achieve hotel's financial room and catering goals.

.Assist with the development and implementation of promotions, both internal and external.

.Work collaboratively with off-property sales channels (e.g., Event Booking Centre, Market Sales, GSA) to ensure the property needs are being achieved and the sales efforts are complementary, not duplicative.

.Participate in sales calls with members of sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business. Attends customer events, trade shows and sales missions to maintain, build or develop key relationships with GSA, Managers, and customers.

.Assist the Commercial Director with the creation and achievement of budget and management of sales & events expense.

.Support the sales team in achieving key performance indicators (KPIs), setting performance goals, and ensuring optimal productivity.

.Guide events team to create compelling event packages that drive room bookings and incremental revenue.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

.Collaborate closely with the F&B, Front Office, Reservations, Events, and Guest Relations teams to ensure seamless guest experiences and maximize upselling opportunities.

.Ensure effective communication and synergy between sales, revenue, events, and marketing teams to align goals and strategies.

Leadership & Team Development

.Guide and develop the sales & events team, providing them with the necessary tools and knowledge to excel in their roles.

.Utilize all available on-the-job training resources for associates, enhance training programs for the team, and develop the skills of team members.

Customer Satisfaction

.Demonstrates exceptional leadership in the hospitality industry, exemplifying outstanding customer service and setting a positive example for team members.

.Engages with guests to gather feedback on product quality and service levels, ensuring continuous improvement.

.Observes the service behaviors of associates and provides constructive feedback to individuals and managers, fostering a culture of excellence.

.Review sales and catering guest satisfaction results to identify areas for enhancement, collaborating closely with all relevant departments to implement corrective actions.

.Adhere to Standard's Customer Service Standards and the hotel's Brand Standards, ensuring consistent and exceptional customer experiences.

.Prioritize customer satisfaction by comprehending their needs and recommending tailored features and services that exceed their expectations. This approach fosters long-term relationships and loyalty with Standard.

.Proficiently understand the diverse needs of guests across various segments and utilizes this knowledge to maximize operational efficiency and deliver exceptional results.

Required skills and Qualifications:

.A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar capacity with proven track records in a 5 star hotel

.Bachelor's degree in tourism, hospitality or related field

.Excellent verbal, reading and written communication skills

.Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint

.Satisfactorily communicate with guests, employees and management to their understanding

.Ability to achieve sales targets and work in a highly pressurized environment

.A team player and builder

.A motivator and self starter

.Desire to succeed and passion to lead
