Job Description

The Director, Strategic Projects will lead high-impact initiatives that transform and optimize MSD global operations and supply chain. This role is responsible for driving strategic programs that enhance efficiency, resilience, and sustainability across planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution. This person will partner with regional and global leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure programs are executed on time/on cost and deliver targeted financial savings.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute the roadmap for strategic supply chain and operations initiatives aligned with corporate goals.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver complex, multi-year programs.

Program Management

  • Oversee planning, execution, and governance of strategic projects across procurement, supply chain and operations.
  • Establish KPIs and track performance to ensure project success.

Innovation & Transformation

  • Identify opportunities for digitalization, automation, and advanced analytics in supply chain processes.
  • Drive adoption of emerging technologies and best practices.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with senior executives and external partners to align strategies and deliver results.
  • Communicate project outcomes and recommendations to leadership.

Risk & Compliance

  • Assess supply chain & operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with global trade regulations and sustainability standards.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years in supply chain management, consulting, or operations with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Skills:
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale, strategic projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Expertise in supply chain technologies (ERP, TMS, WMS, advanced analytics).
  • Leadership: Ability to inspire, influence, and drive change across diverse teams.
