Job Description
The Director will be AVPN's local point of contact in Thailand and its neighbors (Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos), and based in Bangkok. They will help to shape and execute strategy for AVPN's market growth in this region, responsible for achieving membership growth, optimal positioning, and maintaining relationship building with existing and prospective stakeholders based in Thailand and neighboring markets.
The Director reports to the Regional Director, Southeast Asia.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the market penetration and membership growth that comes from the key players across the full spectrum of social investment: corporations, foundations, family offices, financial services, private equity, intermediaries, government and universities in Singapore.
- Design and execute action plan for achieving AVPN network KPIs and revenue growth targets in the responsible markets.
- Determine key strategic partners to position AVPN optimally in the competitive landscape of Thailand and neighboring markets, by helping AVPN understand the detail of market needs, AVPN's value-add and differentiation from other stakeholders.
- Responsible for leading the transformation of ideas into key opportunities with AVPN's strategic partners in Thailand and neighboring markets into reality and monitor their progress
- Work closely with other teammates in the Markets team, especially the Southeast Asia team, as well as other AVPN colleagues in Partnerships and other verticals to provide values to members and partners.
- Increase AVPN brand awareness by establishing a presence in the relevant industry events and external engagement in Thailand and neighboring markets.
- Manage and develop associates in the Markets team to expand their horizons and improve knowledge about the region.
- Travel regularly as needed the region to ensure market penetration and stakeholder engagement is high
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in social investment, philanthropy, or CSR; Fundraising experience is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, relationship management, or a related field
- Experience in the Thai social investment sector with well-established relationships; additional connections in Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos would be a plus
- Self-directed experience and comfortable working independently in a virtual and distributed team setting
- Proficient in forging and cultivating relationships with members and be comfortable dealing with funders
- Able to drive performance through achieving stated network KPIs and revenue targets
- Innovative in forging new paths for partnerships and collaboration with others to make things happen
- Strategic thinking and planning ability, seeing the big picture and possibilities to drive AVPN's growth in Thailand and neighboring markets.
- Excellent organizational and management skills
- Concise, compelling writer in English; effective verbal communicator in English, Thai, and preferably another local language.
