Job Description:

Position Overview: Seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to oversee electrical systems installation, testing, and commissioning. Must possess strong technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and proven leadership skills to manage electrical operations while ensuring code compliance and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Field Supervision - Direct and supervise electrical crews, contractors, and technicians for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, and low-voltage systems installation
  • Design Interpretation - Review and interpret electrical drawings, panel schedules, specifications, and engineering plans to ensure proper installation and system functionality
  • Quality Inspections - Conduct comprehensive on-site inspections of electrical work including panel installations, conduit routing, cable pulling, and equipment connections
  • Code Compliance - Ensure all electrical work meets National Electrical Code (NEC), local electrical codes, fire codes, and municipal regulations
  • Permit & Inspection Coordination - Interface with electrical inspectors, AHJs (Authority Having Jurisdiction), and utility companies for permits, inspections, and approvals
  • Progress Reporting - Prepare detailed progress reports, inspection logs, test results, and status updates for project stakeholders
  • Safety Leadership - Implement electrical safety protocols, conduct lockout/tagout procedures, arc flash safety, and ensure OSHA electrical standards compliance
  • Testing & Commissioning - Oversee electrical testing including continuity, insulation resistance, ground fault, protective relay testing, and system startup
  • Contractor Management - Coordinate multiple electrical subcontractors, ensuring quality workmanship, schedule adherence, and proper coordination
  • Problem Resolution - Troubleshoot electrical issues, resolve design conflicts, and implement field solutions for installation challenges
  • Documentation Management - Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing results, warranties, submittals, and as-built drawings
  • System Coordination - Coordinate electrical systems with mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection trades to prevent conflicts

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience - Minimum 5+ years electrical supervision experience in commercial, in commercial, industrial (Manufacturing/Clean Lab), or institutional projects (DC is a plus point)
  • Technical Expertise - Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, motor controls, lighting systems, and low-voltage applications//Commissioning Experience is preferred.
  • Regulatory Knowledge - Thorough understanding of NEC, local electrical codes, and inspection requirements
  • Reporting Proficiency - Proven ability to prepare comprehensive inspection reports and technical documentation
  • Inspection Experience - Extensive field inspection experience including electrical testing and quality assurance
  • Leadership Skills - Demonstrated ability to supervise electrical teams and coordinate with multiple contractors

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent technical education
  • Associate Engineer License (at minimum)
  • Professional licenses (PE, contractor's license) bonus
  • Arc flash training and safety certifications
  • Experience with BIM coordination and electrical design software
