About the Role:
The Services Manager will be responsible for overseeing the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems and IT infrastructure within data center construction projects in Thailand. This role requires deep technical expertise to ensure these critical systems meet the highest standards of reliability, efficiency, and compliance with local regulations and international data center standards.
What you'll do:
- Technical Leadership: Lead and oversee the design, construction, and commissioning of all MEP and IT infrastructure systems for data centers, ensuring compliance, safety, and on-time delivery.
- Design Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external design teams to review and optimize MEP/IT designs, ensuring they meet project specifications, international data center standards (e.g., Uptime Institute Tier standards), and Thai building codes.
- Procurement & Vendor Management: Manage the tendering, evaluation, and selection of vendors and subcontractors for MEP and IT infrastructure packages, ensuring technical suitability and cost-effectiveness.
- Installation Oversight: Supervise the installation of critical data center equipment, including switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, structured cabling, and fire safety systems.
- Commissioning & Testing: Drive procurement, construction, and commissioning processes. Lead the comprehensive testing and commissioning (FAT, SAT, IST) of all MEP and IT systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and seamless integration.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all MEP and IT installations comply with Thai electrical, mechanical, fire safety, and environmental regulations, as well as specific data center guidelines.
- Parallel Design-Build: Integrate engineering designs and technical specifications into parallel construction processes, managing design changes and ensuring their seamless implementation on site.
- Quality Assurance: Implement stringent quality assurance programs for all services installations, ensuring adherence to specifications and industry best practices.
- Troubleshooting: Provide expert technical guidance and problem-solving for complex MEP/IT issues during construction and commissioning.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of MEP and/or IT infrastructure systems, with at least 5 years focused on data center environments in Thailand or the region.
- In-depth knowledge of data center equipment and environments, including high-density power distribution, advanced thermal management (cooling systems), and structured cabling.
- Proven experience in commissioning processes (Level 1-5) for critical facilities.
- Experience in design-build projects and leading the integration of design development with ongoing construction.
- Strong understanding of relevant Thai regulatory requirements, safety standards, and international data center standards (e.g., TIA/EIA, Uptime Institute).
- Proficiency in relevant design and project management software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English and Thai (written and spoken) is highly desirable.
