About the Role:
The Cost Manager will be responsible for overseeing all cost planning, budget control, and financial strategy for data center construction projects in Thailand. This role ensures cost efficiency, risk mitigation, and value optimization throughout the project lifecycle, aligning with local financial regulations and project-specific requirements.
What you'll do:
- Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Develop and manage comprehensive cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for data center projects from concept design through to construction and handover.
- Cost Control & Monitoring: Monitor project expenditures, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to ensure projects remain within budget.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare detailed cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial models for management review and stakeholders.
- Procurement & Negotiation: Support procurement strategy, lead vendor negotiations, and evaluate contracts to ensure cost efficiency and compliance with local laws.
- Risk & Value Management: Provide risk and value management analysis to maximize return on investment, identifying cost-saving opportunities and benchmarking.
- Change Management: Manage change orders, claims, and final accounts with contractors, ensuring financial integrity.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all financial aspects of the project comply with Thai accounting standards, tax regulations, and investment promotion policies (e.g., BOI incentives for data centers).
- Design-Build Costing: Collaborate with design and construction teams in parallel design-build projects to provide real-time cost feedback and optimize value engineering throughout the evolving design.
- Commissioning Costs: Manage costs associated with the commissioning phase of data center infrastructure.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Finance, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in cost management, quantity surveying, or financial planning in large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in data center or critical infrastructure construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC), and procurement processes relevant to Thailand.
- Proficiency in cost management software, advanced Excel, and project management tools
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and investment frameworks in Thailand, particularly concerning data centers.
- Fluent in English and Thai (written and spoken) is highly desirable.
