Overall Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Automotive MD, the General Manager – Sales & Marketing is responsible for leading the LFC Sales and Marketing functions in Laos. The role is accountable for driving vehicle sales performance, market share growth, customer acquisition and retention, brand positioning, marketing strategy, and overall commercial profitability. The position ensures sales targets are achieved through effective leadership of the sales and marketing teams, development of market opportunities, optimization of customer experience, and implementation of strategic marketing initiatives.

Functional Responsibilities
The General Manager – Sales & Marketing is responsible for leading, directing, and motivating the sales and marketing teams to achieve sales, market share, customer satisfaction, and profitability objectives.
Sales Leadership
- Ensure the organization achieves vehicle sales targets and related commercial objectives.
- Lead, coach, and support the sales team to maximize sales performance.
- Assist sales staff in closing significant deals and strategic sales opportunities when required.
- Conduct regular sales performance reviews and sales meetings to monitor results and pipeline activity.
- Establish sales objectives and performance targets for team members.
- Identify sales training needs and coordinate development programs to strengthen team capabilities.
- Monitor customer engagement standards and ensure a consistently high level of customer service.
- Ensure professional presentation standards are maintained across all customer-facing employees.
- Appraise trade-in vehicles and support decision-making related to vehicle valuation and sales negotiations.
- Maintain and improve sales processes, prospect management, and lead conversion effectiveness.
- Maintain a robust customer and prospect database to support future sales growth.
- Develop and maintain relationships with major customers, fleet accounts, and key business partners.
Marketing Management
- Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to increase vehicle sales, brand visibility, and market penetration.
- Manage the development and implementation of advertising campaigns, promotional programs, and lead-generation initiatives.
- Create and maintain a dealership image that strengthens the brand while appealing to customer needs and market expectations.
- Plan and oversee showroom and vehicle display merchandising to optimize customer experience and sales opportunities.
- Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.
- Maintain market intelligence on competitors, competing automotive brands, pricing strategies, and industry developments.
- Recommend and implement initiatives to improve market positioning and commercial performance.
- Coordinate marketing activities with the OEM and ensure alignment with brand standards and requirements.
- Evaluate marketing effectiveness and adjust strategies to maximize return on investment.
Customer Experience & Brand Management
- Maintain regular contact with key customers to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
- Support customer relationship management initiatives and customer retention programs.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to vehicle sales activities in a timely and professional manner.
- Gather customer feedback and communicate market requirements to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure dealership standards are maintained in accordance with Ford requirements and brand guidelines.
- Promote a customer-centric culture throughout the sales and marketing organization.
Strategic & Business Management
- Conduct regular management meetings to review sales performance, market developments, and business objectives.
- Provide the Automotive MD with regular updates regarding:
- Market trends
- Competitive activity
- Customer satisfaction
- Sales performance
- Business opportunities and risks
- Identify new industry practices and strategies to continuously improve sales effectiveness and commercial performance.
- Contribute to annual business planning, sales forecasting, and commercial strategy development.
- Support the preparation of annual sales budgets and forecasts aligned with company objectives.
People Leadership
- Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development to sales and marketing employees.
- Establish performance objectives and development plans for team members.
- Conduct performance reviews and monitor achievement of agreed objectives.
- Develop succession plans and build organizational capability within the sales and marketing functions.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
Travel Requirements
- Approximately 10% travel within Vientiane
- Occasional regional and international travel may be required.
Background (Essential)
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales Management, Commerce, or a related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in automotive sales and marketing management.
- Demonstrated experience leading dealership sales operations or automotive distribution businesses.
- Proven track record of achieving vehicle sales targets and commercial growth objectives.
- Strong understanding of automotive retail, fleet sales, customer relationship management, and dealership operations.
- Experience in marketing strategy development, advertising campaigns, promotions, and lead generation.
- Strong market analysis and competitive intelligence capabilities.
- Experience managing sales forecasting, budgeting, and commercial performance.
- Excellent customer-facing, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Strong leadership and people development experience.
- Sound commercial and business acumen.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
Preferred
- Experience representing an international automotive brand.
- Experience working in Southeast Asia or other emerging markets.
- Experience managing both retail and fleet sales channels.
- Fluent in Lao or Thai languages.
