Job Description
- Conduct Supplier quality status for assigned supplier sites, accountable for site performance for
new product launch, ongoing part quality and warranty claims.
- Ensure Supplier performance compliance to Ford Specific Guidelines.
- Provide technical support to aid in improving supplier quality systems.
- Drive Supplier continuous improvement.
- Support the cross functional team activity in case supplier response relates.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for development and assessment of IMG supplier (special focus on FLA delivery), SFQ (Sourcing for Quality) and implementation for launching flawlessly, collaborating with Engineering, VMC team, Purchasing, Program, etc.
- Manage specifically assigned supplier sites, Current VMC Thailand and VMC South Africa (Only Quality Issue which Supplier locations in Thailand only), ensure quality standards are being met strictly.
- Supplier Quality Issues resolution (Supplier part and process issues), Escalate significant issues promptly and date to green plan to appropriate management
- Conduct onsite evaluation visits for Priority commodities.
- Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing with the assigned sites through FLA Site Assessment standard, ISO/TS16949, Supplier training as required.
- Drive capacity actions implementation with suppliers (Based on request from Cross functional team Team)
- Drive Supplier Process capacity issues resolution as needed – Production constraint risk mitigation working with Ford and Supplier teams.
- Drive robust Supplier Failure Mode Avoidance through PFMEA, SCCAF, CP reviews, Manufacturing feasibility reviews as needs.
- Drive deployment of Quality performance requirements , initiatives and training to supply base in STA tools (e.g. Warranty Reduction, Benchmarking, Lean Manufacturing, G8D (Global 8 Disciplines) methodology, PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), Gage R&R (Repeatability and Reproducibility), etc.) as required
- Drive closure of supplier process Quality issues related to Stop Ship/Build, Warranty Claims and GWC project.
- Provide assistance to purchasing, Engineering, Packaging and Supply Chain on cost reduction opportunities.
Qualifications
Education Qualification
- Bachelor of Science/ Engineering, or academic equivalent
- Be proficient in English when working with global teams
- Knowledge of manufacturing process(es) of the responsible component commodities
- Knowledge of Problem Solving and Quality systems and tools
No. Of Years Of Experience
5-8 years working experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Process Problem Solving and Quality systems and tools, Program Management in Automotive Industry
Professional Exposure
(Technical Skills)
Manufacturing process / Quality System, PPAP/ APQP, Problem Solving, Quality Tool, Program management, ISO/TS16949 Assessor / Auditor Certificate is a plus.
Preferred Previous Experiences
- Experience in manufacturing process(es) of the responsible component commodities and process control
- Experience in Quality systems, tools and techniques
- Project management experience
- Supply/Crisis Management Experience
Functional Skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing process(es) of the responsible component commodities
- Knowledge of Problem Solving and Quality systems and tools(8D process/DFMEA/PFMEA/Control plan/MSA/ISO9001/IATS16949)
- Knowledge of Program Management (PPAP/APQP)
