Job Overview
This position supports the Corporate Transformation function in evaluating and executing investment and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) opportunities that are commercially sound, financially robust, and strategically aligned with Banpu's strategic growth priorities.
You will work closely with Banpu executives, business units, and external counterparties - including banks, funds, consultants, advisors, and potential partners - to provide analysis, prepare presentations, and ensure the delivery of high-quality investment materials.
This role is ideal for professionals at an early stage of their investment career who have a strong interest in financial analysis, market research, and developing clear, insightful presentations. You will support senior team members in evaluating opportunities, developing recommendations, and ensuring the investment process runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
1. Investment Screening & Research Support
- Conduct preliminary reviews of internal and external investment proposals, in partnership with internal business units..
- Perform market and industry research to support feasibility assessments.
- Analyze sector trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory factors.
- Assist senior members in preparing insights and materials for management review.
2. Financial Modeling & Commercial Analysis
- Support financial modeling workincluding building complex financial models, conducting return, scenario, and sensitivity analysis, and valuation benchmarking.
- Validate assumptions with business units and help compile commercial inputs.
- Prepare summary tables, charts, and visuals for investment memos and presentations to support internal investment approval process.
3. Presentation Development & Communication
- Build presentations for:
- Investment Review Committee
- CEO/COO updates
- market research briefings
- due diligence and analysis summaries
- Convert analyses into clear, structured, storyline-driven slides.
4. Business Development & Opportunity Sourcing (Support)
- Assist in M&A and partnership landscaping in priority sectors (energy transition, resources, digital infra, AI infrastructure, etc.), in partnership with business unit leaders.
- Conduct market scans and maintain trackers of potential opportunities.
- Support screening of inbound proposals from investment banks, consultants, PE/VC funds, brokers, and industry networks.
- Coordinate early-stage assessments with internal teams.
5. Internal Investment Approval Process Coordination
- Prepare documentation, templates, checklists, and analysis packs for internal investment approval process.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy in materials prepared for senior management and committees.
- Help maintain deal pipelines and internal databases.
- Keep meeting minutes and track follow up items for investment committee review meetings
6. Portfolio Monitoring Support
- Assist in tracking the performance of existing investments.
- Compile periodic updates, dashboards, and financial summaries.
- Support post-investment reviews and lessons-learned exercises.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, corporate finance, PE/VC, or similar analytical roles.
- Strong analytical abilities with a good foundation in financial modeling and valuation.
- Excellent PowerPoint skills and the ability to build structured, compelling presentations.
- Strong research skills and the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Detail-oriented, proactive.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Strong command of written and spoken English for effective professional communication (TOEIC Score of 600 or above)
