About the Role

Ranger Buddies is a purpose-driven platform by Mandai X that inspires children and families to care for wildlife and the planet through interactive experiences, storytelling, play, and technology.

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape engaging and meaningful experiences across the Ranger Buddies ecosystem — from digital products and gamified learning journeys to on-ground experiences and future innovations.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong UX and product thinking with creativity, curiosity, and a deep understanding of how design can drive engagement, learning, and emotional connection.

As part of a lean and collaborative innovation team, you will work closely with product managers, engineers, educators, business stakeholders, and leadership to design experiences that delight users while advancing conservation and educational outcomes.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end design across the Ranger Buddies experience ecosystem, including mobile, web, physical, and hybrid experiences.
• Design intuitive, engaging, and age-appropriate experiences for children and families, balancing educational value, usability, engagement, and delight.
• Drive UX design processes from discovery through to delivery, including user flows, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, interaction design, and usability testing.
• Design connected digital-to-physical experience journeys, including in-park interactions, activity trails, learning moments, environmental touchpoints, and interactive installations.
• Map how users move across physical and digital contexts, identifying key moments of engagement, friction, learning, and improvement.
• Plan, facilitate, and synthesize usability tests for assigned features and experience journeys, translating insights into actionable design iterations and deliverables such as personas, journey maps, storyboards, system maps, flows, and prototypes.
• Design for engagement and retention through gamification, behavioural design, storytelling, and interactive experiences.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Content, and Business teams to shape product direction, priorities, and delivery.
• Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-moving, iterative environment.
• Present ideas, design decisions, and rationale clearly to stakeholders across different functions and seniority levels.
• Help establish strong design practices and contribute to a growing design culture within Mandai X.

Job Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, interaction design, or related fields
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design thinking and shipped digital products or physical experiences
• Experience designing consumer-facing products, both digital and physical, especially for families, education, gaming, media, or engagement-driven platforms
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and interaction design
• Ability to simplify complex problems into intuitive user experiences
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and independently driving initiatives forward
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• High proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma)
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
