We are looking for a Retail Concept & Experiential Design professional to join our Retail Strategy Development team.
This role sits at the intersection of retail strategy, spatial design, and customer experience. The successful candidate will translate market insights and retail strategies into compelling concepts, spatial narratives, and visual storytelling that shape the development of retail environments.
Working closely with the Research & Analytics team, this role will help transform data and consumer insights into clear retail concepts, mood & tone, and spatial perspectives that support business and leasing strategies.
A key responsibility of the role is ensuring that design concepts align with the intended customer journey, creating retail environments that deliver both strong commercial performance and engaging customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Concept Development
Develop retail concepts and strategic narratives based on market research, customer insights, and business objectives
Translate strategic ideas into clear concept frameworks, themes, and storytelling for retail zones and projects
Define mood & tone, design language, and experiential direction for retail environments
Customer Journey & Experience Design
Ensure retail concepts and spatial ideas align with the intended customer journey and experience
Translate concepts into experience-driven spatial thinking, considering flow, interaction, and engagement within the retail environment
Support the development of retail environments that integrate tenant mix, experience, and spatial design
Spatial Visualization & Communication
Translate concepts into visual representations such as mood boards, diagrams, sections, spatial perspectives, and design references
Develop visual storytelling materials to communicate retail concepts clearly to internal teams and management
Support presentations with clear visualizations illustrating how strategies translate into physical retail environments
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with the Research & Analytics team to translate insights and data into actionable retail concepts
Collaborate with Strategy, Development, Leasing, and Marketing teams to align concepts with overall project goals
Support the development of retail strategies for new projects, repositioning, and asset enhancement initiatives
Qualifications
510 years of experience in Interior Design, Retail Design, Spatial Design, Business Development, or related fields
Experience working on retail, lifestyle, or mixed-use developments
Experience developing retail concepts, spatial narratives, and visual storytelling
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Spatial Design, or related disciplines
Skills & Capabilities
Strong conceptual thinking and storytelling ability
Strong understanding of retail environments and customer experience
Ability to translate strategic ideas into clear spatial and visual concepts
Strong visual communication and presentation skills
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional strategy and design environment
Language Skills
Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken
Ability to present ideas, concepts, and design narratives clearly in English
Design & Visualization Tools
Candidates are expected to be proficient in some of the following tools (not required to master all):
Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
SketchUp
Rhino or other 3D modeling tools
AutoCAD
Rendering tools such as Lumion, V-Ray, or Enscape
Presentation tools such as PowerPoint or Keynote
