Position Summary
- The Senior Game Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing game performance and player behavior to generate insights
that directly improve gameplay, retention, monetization, and live operations.
- This role acts as a key analytical partner to Game Directors, Product Managers, and Live Ops teams, translating data into
clear, actionable recommendations.
- The Senior Game Data Analyst is expected to go beyond reporting and play an active role in decision-making, experimentation, and game optimization.

- Drive data-informed decisions across game design, live ops, and monetization.
- Identify opportunities to improve player experience and business performance through analytics.
- Set a high bar for insight quality and analytical rigor within the game analytics team.
Scope of Responsibility
The Senior Game Data Analyst owns analytics across:
- Gameplay & Player Behavior Analysis
- Retention, Engagement & Cohort Analysis
- Monetization & Economy Performance
- Live Ops & Event Performance
- Experimentation & A/B Testing
Key Responsibilities
Game Performance & Player Behavior Analysis
- Analyze player behavior across core loops, levels, and features.
- Identify friction points, drop-offs, and engagement drivers.
- Translate gameplay data into actionable insights for game design improvements.
Retention, Monetization & Live Ops Analytics
- Monitor and analyze retention, churn, ARPU, ARPPU, and conversion funnels.
- Evaluate the performance of in-game events, promotions, and live ops activities.
- Support optimization of game economy and monetization strategies.
Experimentation & Decision Support
- Design and analyze A/B tests and experiments for game features and live ops.
- Define success metrics and interpret experiment results accurately.
- Provide clear recommendations based on experimental evidence.
Insight Communication & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Present insights and recommendations to Game Directors, Product Managers, and stakeholders.
- Build strong data narratives that explain what happened, why it happened, and what to do next.
- Act as a trusted analytics partner in cross-functional discussions.
Analytics Quality & Mentorship
- Review and challenge analyses to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Mentor junior analysts in analytical thinking and game metrics.
- Contribute to analytics frameworks, templates, and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in game analytics or product analytics, preferably in mobile or live-service games.
- Hands-on experience analyzing player behavior, retention, and monetization.
- Experience supporting game teams with data-driven decision-making.
Analytical & Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in SQL.
- Experience with BI tools and data visualization.
- Solid understanding of cohort analysis, funnels, and experimentation.
- Familiarity with game metrics and KPIs.
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and storytelling abilities.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, iterative game development environments.
