The Senior Interior Designer leads design teams from concept to completion, delivering functional, sustainable, and high-quality spaces. Key Responsibilities
1) Project Leadership & Planning
- Lead project teams from kickoff to delivery, ensuring alignment with client briefs, schedules, and statutory requirements.
- Develop project proposals, define resource allocation, and manage stakeholder roles.
2) Design & Documentation
- Direct the development of interior concepts, space planning, and detailed BIM/Revit documentation.
- Oversee FF&E selection and material approval, prioritizing sustainability, performance, and budget.
- Lead design presentations and internal reviews, providing creative direction and quality control.
- Conduct site visits to ensure construction aligns with design intent and specifications.
3) Coordination & Project Management
- Synchronize with MEP, structural, and architectural teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
- Manage project budgets and tracking in collaboration with Project Managers.
- Oversee RFI reviews, shop drawings, and material submittals to maintain project momentum.
4) Communication & Mentorship
- Act as the primary design contact for clients, delivering clear updates and persuasive presentations.
- Mentor junior designers through constructive feedback, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
- Ensure accurate CRM updates and team time-tracking compliance.
5) Quality & Sustainability
- Enforce company quality management systems (QMS) and design standards across all deliverables.
- Integrate sustainable practices (energy efficiency, waste reduction) per international and company standards.
6) Technology & AI Innovation
- Champion the use of approved AI tools (Generative AI/LLMs) to optimize design options, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance research.
- Train the team on AI integration and report progress to the Design Director.
Experience & Background
- Professional Experience: 57+ years of experience in interior design (Commercial, Hospitality, or relevant sectors) with a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects.
- Leadership: Proven experience in leading design teams, managing project lifecycles, and mentoring junior designers.
- Technical Expertise: Expert-level proficiency in BIM (Revit) and a deep understanding of building codes, construction methods, and project budgeting/scheduling.
- AI & Innovation: Experience integrating AI tools (Generative AI, LLMs) into design workflows to enhance productivity and creativity.
Credentials
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Communication: Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Software: Proficient in Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Suite, and digital presentation tools.
- Sustainability: Strong knowledge of international sustainable design principles and eco-friendly practices.
