The Business Analyst – Senior Manager (Retail Sales Section) is the analytical and operational backbone of CARRO's Centralised and Regional Retail Sales support function. This role bridges strategy and execution across CARRO's multi-country used and new car marketplace, ensuring that retail sales operations are data-driven, process-compliant, and continuously optimised. The incumbent works closely with country sales teams, Business Intelligence, Product, and Finance to translate business objectives into measurable outcomes and scalable systems.

About your role

1. Retail Sales Analytics & Business Steering

  • Own the end-to-end analysis of retail sales performance across CARRO's markets, including used car B2C operations and new car dealer channels
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and performance reports that give regional and central leadership real-time visibility into sales trends, conversion funnels, and inventory health
  • Identify underperformance signals early and work with country leads to propose corrective actions
  • Support OKR and target-setting processes by providing data-backed benchmarks and forecasting models

2. Cross-Functional Collaboration (Regional & Centralised Support)

  • Serve as the primary liaison between central HQ functions (BI, Product, Finance, Transformation) and regional/country retail sales teams
  • Facilitate alignment between field sales requirements and system capabilities, ensuring local needs are represented in product roadmaps
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects — including new system rollouts, SOP updates, and UAT cycles — across multiple markets simultaneously
  • Support dealer onboarding and enablement initiatives by providing analytical frameworks and reporting templates

3. System Enhancement & Project Management

  • Gather and document business requirements from retail sales stakeholders and translate them into clear briefs for the Product team
  • Manage UAT coordination across regional teams for system enhancements impacting the retail sales workflow (e.g., lead management, inventory listing tools, finance integrations)
  • Track project milestones, manage stakeholder communication, and escalate risks proactively
  • Prepare user guides and conduct training to support smooth deployment of new systems or process changes

4. SOP Governance & Compliance Monitoring

  • Create, update, and maintain SOPs that govern retail sales operations across CARRO's centralised and regional functions
  • Implement monitoring mechanisms — system-based and report-based — to ensure business units are operating within defined SOPs
  • Prepare accessible user guides that enable frontline staff and regional managers to self-serve on process queries
  • Own the transition management process when new SOPs or systems are introduced, ensuring minimal disruption to live sales operations

5. Strategic Planning Support

  • Contribute to business planning cycles by synthesising market data, competitive intelligence, and internal performance metrics
  • Prepare strategic materials and executive-ready presentations for senior leadership, including retail performance reviews and initiative proposals
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiency or revenue growth across the retail sales value chain
  • Team Leadership
  • Lead and develop a team of business analysts embedded within the Retail Sales Section
  • Set clear deliverables and quality standards; mentor team members on analytical rigour and stakeholder management
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team

6. Ad-Hoc & Project Support

  • Handle ad-hoc tasks and projects assigned by the HOD or senior stakeholders.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency across the retail sales support function.

7. Operational Recovery & Issue Resolution

  • Proactively identify system or service failures that are causing customer dissatisfaction or revenue leakage— and own the end-to-end resolution, from root cause analysis to corrective action and post-mortem
  • Detect internal process inefficiencies across retail sales workflows and drive structured improvements that restore operational effectiveness and business continuity

8. Sales Process Optimisation

  • Conduct regular analyses of the retail sales funnel to surface bottlenecks — whether in lead handling, inventory conversion, finance processing, or dealer coordination — and recommend data-backed improvements
  • Translate findings into actionable playbooks and process updates that regional and country teams can implement with minimal friction
  • Dealer & Stakeholder Enablement
  • Equip dealers, frontline staff, and internal stakeholders with the resources, guides, and support they need to navigate CARRO's processes confidently — ensuring a seamless experience at every touchpoint
  • Act as an escalation point for process-related queries from regional teams, providing timely and clear guidance

9. Execution Standards

  • Hold yourself and your team to a high bar on quality, accuracy, and attention to detail across all deliverables — from data outputs and reports to SOPs and project documentation
  • Champion strict adherence to operational procedures and quality standards, reinforcing a culture of service excellence across the Retail Sales function
  • Model effective cross-functional collaboration — able to align diverse stakeholders around shared goals while maintaining clarity on ownership and accountability

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • 5–8 years of experience in business analysis, strategy, or operations — preferably in automotive, e-commerce, or marketplace platforms
  • Proven track record managing cross-functional projects across regional teams
  • Experience in a high-growth or multi-market environment is strongly preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Data fluency: Proficient in SQL, Excel, and BI tools (Tableau, Metabase, Power BI, or equivalent)
  • Project management: Structured approach to scoping, planning, and delivering multi-stakeholder initiatives
  • Communication: Able to distil complex analysis into clear narratives for both operational and executive audiences
  • Process thinking: Strong SOP development and governance mindset
  • Stakeholder management: Comfortable working across time zones, cultures, and functions in a Southeast Asian context
  • Adaptability: Thrives in fast-moving environments where priorities can shift quickly
