Job Overview
You will lead mechanical design oversight during construction. You will ensure all mechanical systems meet specifications, codes, and project requirements. You will guide junior engineers, coordinate with project stakeholders, and resolve technical issues on site. You will review design documents, validate installations, and keep the project aligned with schedule and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design reviews for accuracy, compliance, and constructability.
- Oversee mechanical work during construction through structured site inspections.
- Provide technical direction to resolve design issues and site conflicts.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and cross-discipline engineers.
- Approve mechanical materials, equipment, and workmanship.
- Maintain clear documentation of site reports, inspections, and design changes.
- Drive quality assurance throughout all mechanical installations.
- Guide junior mechanical engineers and provide technical mentorship.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety requirements, and environmental policies.
- Evaluate and recommend approval for design changes.
- Represent the mechanical function in client and contractor meetings.
Required Skills
- Proficient in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks).
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, MEP systems, and construction practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to various stakeholders.
- Understanding of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 to 12 years of experience in building construction projects, either within an MEP design consultancy, resident engineer role, or construction environment.
- Experience in data center projects or similar critical facilities is advantageous.
- Experience in a site-based role, demonstrating practical knowledge of on-site engineering operations.
- Proficient in Thai and English
