The Service Sales Engineer is a customer-facing role responsible for driving service and aftermarket sales while ensuring excellent delivery service for compressor solutions. The role combines strong technical expertise with commercial acumen to develop customer relationships, promote service offerings and new machines, and coordinate high-quality execution through internal teams and partners.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Sales Engagement
- Act as the primary customer-facing contact for service-related inquiries, proposals, and ongoing support.
- Develop, manage, and grow relationships with existing customers, while actively identifying and developing new service and retrofit opportunities.
- Promote GEA HRT service portfolio, compressor overhauls, exchange programs, training solutions, and new machine sales.
- Prepare, present, and follow up on commercial quotations for compressor overhauls, service contracts, and upgrades, ensuring timely submission and closure.
- Ensure order intake (OI) and margin targets are achieved through value-based selling and effective negotiation.
Service Execution & Coordination
- Coordinate and support the planning and execution of compressor overhauls, including scheduling, resource alignment, and customer communication.
- Support execution of contracted service jobs, acting as a bridge between customers and internal service teams.
- Support resolution of complex technical issues, warranty cases, and escalations in collaboration with engineering and regional experts.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction, focusing on responsiveness, availability, and speed of response.
- Ensure close alignment and cooperation with GEA Thailand and other regional/global colleagues to support customers and projects.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes, reporting standards, and safety requirements.
Profile & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Relevant technical education (mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, or similar).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in refrigeration or compression service, maintenance, repair, and commissioning.
- Service sales or customer-facing commercial experience is a strong advantage.
- People management or team leadership experience is an advantage.
Technical Competencies
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills with hands-on service experience.
- Solid knowledge of refrigeration and compression processes.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Basic knowledge of automation and control systems.
- Good reporting and documentation skills.
Commercial & Interpersonal Skills
- Strong customer orientation with a consultative sales mindset.
- Good commercial skills, including pricing, margin awareness, and value selling.
- Effective communication skills; English (pre-intermediate or better) required.
- Coaching and training skills or experience preferred.
