Andovar, in partnership with Outlier, is seeking experienced software engineers to contribute to AI training data development. This role involves working with real-world codebases to support the evaluation and improvement of AI systems.
Key Responsibilities
Contributors will perform a range of technical and analytical tasks, including:
- Dockerfile Creation: Package applications into containers, managing dependencies and build processes
- Script Development: Write Bash/Python scripts to automate workflows and environment setup
- Code Review & Analysis: Interpret GitHub patches and explain code changes
- Repository Exploration: Navigate unfamiliar codebases and identify core logic
- Evaluation Design: Develop rubrics to assess AI model performance
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 3–8 years in software engineering or related field
- Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or Java
- Technical Exposure: Experience working with APIs, services, or production systems
- Tools: Familiarity with Git, command-line interfaces, and scripting
- Infrastructure Knowledge: Basic experience with Docker
- Analytical Ability: Strong reasoning skills with the ability to understand and explain unfamiliar code
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pull request reviews, debugging, or code optimization
- Exposure to collaborative development environments
Selection Process
- Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a technical assessment test provided by Andovar
- The assessment will evaluate coding, reasoning, and code comprehension skills relevant to the project tasks

Performance Expectations (Trial Phase)
- Onboarding Speed: First task completion within 3–7 days of activation
- Weekly Contribution Targets aligned with ramp-up goals
- Quality Benchmark: Maintain ≥80% quality score on submitted tasks
- Consistency: Reliable participation to meet weekly output expectations
