Job Description: Tax Manager
Job Summary
The Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing tax compliance, tax planning, and tax risk management both in Thailand and internationally. This role ensures full adherence to evolving tax laws, global tax trends, and emerging digital asset taxation frameworks while optimizing tax efficiency for the company. The ideal candidate must have expertise in corporate tax, VAT, transfer pricing, and cryptocurrency/digital asset taxation, with experience handling tax audits and working with tax authorities across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, including Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, Digital Asset Tax, and other statutory taxes in Thailand and foreign jurisdictions.
- Monitor changes in tax regulations, global tax trends, and cryptocurrency/digital asset tax developments, assessing their potential impact on the company's operations.
- Maintain compliance with local and international tax laws, including transfer pricing, cross-border taxation, and digital asset reporting requirements.
- Oversee tax treatment and reporting related to cryptocurrency transactions, token investments, digital asset trading, staking, mining, NFTs, and blockchain-related activities where applicable.
- Collaborate with external tax advisors, auditors, and internal teams to ensure tax strategies align with regulatory standards and evolving digital asset regulations.
Tax Planning & Optimization
- Develop and implement tax-efficient structures to optimize tax liabilities while ensuring full compliance.
- Provide tax advisory support for business transactions, M&A activities, international business expansion, and digital asset-related investments or operations.
- Evaluate and enhance tax planning strategies by staying updated on global tax trends, OECD initiatives, and digital tax transformations.
- Assess tax implications related to cryptocurrency holdings, digital payment systems, and blockchain-based business models.
Tax Risk Management & Audit Support
- Identify and mitigate tax risks by conducting regular tax reviews and implementing internal controls.
- Manage tax audits, tax investigations, and inquiries from tax authorities both in Thailand and internationally.
- Prepare and maintain proper tax documentation, including transfer pricing reports, BEPS-related documentation, and digital asset transaction records.
- Monitor regulatory developments related to cryptocurrency taxation, anti-money laundering (AML), and digital asset compliance requirements.
- Provide strategic tax recommendations to minimize potential tax exposures and regulatory risks.
Business Advisory & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Advise senior management and business units on tax implications for strategic decision-making.
- Work closely with Finance, Legal, Treasury, Compliance, and Business Development teams to integrate tax considerations into corporate strategies.
- Support evaluation of cryptocurrency-related business opportunities, investment structures, and cross-border digital transactions from a tax and compliance perspective.
- Coordinate with external consultants, tax authorities, regulators, and global partners to ensure best tax practices.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- CPA, CTA, or other relevant tax certifications are a plus.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in tax management, preferably in a multinational corporation, digital asset business, fintech company, or Big 4 firm.
- Strong knowledge of Thai and international tax laws, including transfer pricing, cross-border taxation, and cryptocurrency/digital asset taxation.
- Familiarity with global tax trends, digital tax regulations, OECD/G20 initiatives (such as Pillar 1 & 2), and digital asset regulatory frameworks.
- Understanding of cryptocurrency transactions, blockchain ecosystems, tokenized assets, and related tax/accounting implications is highly preferred.
- Experience handling tax audits and regulatory inquiries related to digital assets or fintech businesses is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems is an advantage.
- Fluent in both Thai and English (spoken and written).
