Job Description

Role Purpose / Why This Role Exists:

The Technical Business Development Officer is responsible for driving long-term business growth by building meaningful relationships, understanding client needs deeply, and connecting those needs to the right solutions within Criclabs.

This role blends business development, technical understanding, and client relationship management — ensuring we don't just sell projects, but deliver the right solutions and maintain lifetime value with every client.

Core Objectives

1. Develop long-term relationships that will convert into high-quality future leads

2. Own the sales cycle end-to-end — from pitching to closing to onboarding

3. Be the client advocate throughout the project lifecycle

4. Identify upsell & expansion opportunities from a place of genuine understanding

5. Represent Criclabs externally at events, conferences, and networking sessions

6. Identify market opportunities and bring insights back to the team

Key Responsibilities

1. Networking & Market Insights

  • Attend weekly networking events and industry meetups
  • Build and maintain relationships to generate long-term leads
  • Prepare post-event summary reports including:

- Market trends

   - Potential partnerships

   - Client challenges heard

  - Strategic opportunities and takeaways for the team

2. Lead Nurturing & Relationship Building

  • Maintain a warm pipeline of potential clients
  • Nurture relationships through:

   - Follow-up conversations

  - Sending relevant insights/resources

  - Inviting prospects to webinars or events

- Build trust-based relationships that convert over time

3. Sales Strategy & Pitching

  • Develop customized sales strategies for each pitch
  • Analyze client needs + translate them into the right Cric solutions
  • Prepare proposal structure with the PM/PO team
  • Present and pitch projects confidently
  • Lead negotiations and close deals

4. Client Relationship Management

  • Conduct quarterly coffee sessions with existing clients
  • Maintain ongoing check-ins to understand their perspective
  • Be the client's voice internally to ensure alignment between:

   - UX/UI

   - Dev team

   - Growth specialists

   - PO team

5. Upsell & Expansion

  • Identify opportunities for:

   - Additional features

   - AEO / SEO packages

   - UX/UI enhancements

   - Maintenance and support offerings

  • Propose upsell opportunities at the right moment with context and care
  • Increase Average Retainer Value across long-term clients

- Number of meaningful connections built per month (first contact exchange that leads to multiple coffee catch-ups)

- Number of qualified leads generated

- Deals closed per quarter

- Client retention & upsell rate

- Revenue from expansions

- Relationship health scores (survey or NPS)

- Quality of event summary reports delivered

- Internal team feedback on alignment & communication
