3D Interior Designer / Design Drafter

Materia is a growing home product and design discovery business focused on products, materials, practical solutions and design support for homeowners and industry professionals.

We are looking for a creative and technically capable 3D Interior Designer / Design Drafter to support interior planning, visualisation and technical drawing works. Working Location: Stellar @ Tampines

Key Responsibilities

3D Design & Visualisation

• Produce high-quality 3D interior perspectives and realistic renderings

• Develop design concepts based on customer requirements, references and space limitations

• Prepare mood boards, material selections and presentation drawings

• Create visuals for residential interiors, carpentry and product applications

• Assist in presenting design ideas clearly to homeowners and industry clients

Technical Drawings

• Prepare floor plans and space-planning layouts

• Produce lighting plans and electrical point layouts

• Prepare reflected ceiling plans where required

• Develop carpentry elevations and detailed drawings

• Prepare basic construction and coordination drawings

• Update drawings based on site measurements, client feedback and revisions

• Ensure drawings are practical and suitable for contractor or factory execution

Product & Carpentry Support

• Work with Materia's product and procurement team on product placement and specifications

• Assist with customised carpentry and storage solutions

• Prepare drawings for kitchens, wardrobes, shoe cabinets, TV consoles and other built-in furniture

• Coordinate drawing requirements with factories, carpenters, electricians and other trade partners

• Assist in developing product displays and showroom concepts

Client & Project Support

• Attend design discussions and understand customer requirements

• Assist with product recommendations where relevant

• Support homeowners, contractors, freelance designers and industry professionals using our design services

• Coordinate amendments and ensure drawings are completed according to agreed requirements and timelines

Requirements

• Diploma or qualification in Interior Design, Spatial Design, Architecture, Product Design or related field preferred

• Proficient in relevant 3D and drafting software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, 3ds Max, Enscape, V-Ray or similar

• Good understanding of space planning and interior detailing

• Able to read and produce technical drawings

• Basic knowledge of carpentry, lighting, electrical planning and interior construction is preferred

• Strong attention to measurements and details

• Able to manage multiple drawing assignments and revisions

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Fresh graduates with a strong portfolio may be considered

We are not looking for someone who only produces attractive 3D images.

We are looking for a designer who is interested in understanding how spaces, products and technical requirements come together-from initial concept and visualisation to drawings that can actually be used by factories, contractors and installers.
